After watching worst tv of the 90's on five I was having a quick google of worse tv ever and one show universally panned was one I loved- called 'out of this world' 80's sitcom about a girl whose half alien and another one me and my sister remember but no one else about a ghost haunting a family that had moved into her house after she'd choked on a chicken bone.
What ransoms do you remember?

I have a very vivid childhood memory of sitting on the sofa on my mum's birthday watching The Brittas Empire, a sitcom where the nerdy bloke out of Red Dwarf was managing a leisure centre. If the Internet didn't exist I'd be convinced I'd dreamt it because no one I've ever mentioned it to as an adult remembers it!

Ponk I remember that, the receptionist used to keep her baby in the bottom drawer of her desk grin

ExcuseMyEyebrows Sat 03-Dec-16 13:45:06

No-one I know remembers So Haunt Me (think thay's the one you mean OP?) or Shillingbury Tales. They were on tv in the 1980s and 90s.

Brittas Empire is on Gold.

Does anyone remember The Singing Ringing Tree? It traumatises me even thinking about it, even now!

I vividly remeber watching a kids programme about a group of kids/teens who used to time travel and they were regularly in some sort of wasteland. I've googled it and I can't find it and it's driven me crazy for years. Dh thinks I imagined it all!!

woodenmouse Sat 03-Dec-16 13:58:24

Oh and imnsure there was some sort of grandfather clock involved

Bernard's Watch!

He never had any fun with that bloody watch though. He used to just use it for extra time to paint his Nan's hallway or to freeze the postman so he could put his Auntie's birthday card in the postbox before 5:30pm.

MadHattersWineParty Sat 03-Dec-16 14:19:48

woodenmouse did the group of children also travel with a big dog?

AndNoneForGretchenWieners Sat 03-Dec-16 14:20:56

Tickle on the Tum. Nobody ever remembers it except me. And Ghost Train.

JustDanceAddict Sat 03-Dec-16 14:21:29

I remember the Brittas Empire and the most random one I remember is End of Part I which had the Corrie tune backwards as it's theme tune. I don't even remember what it was about, but think it was on itv in the late 70s/early 80s. If anyone else remembers I'll be amazed.

Rude Dog and the Dweebs.

What was that? I had a minor obsession about the main character. (Wtf? He was a cartoon!) But nobody I've mentioned it to remembers it.

DramaInPyjamas Sat 03-Dec-16 14:23:30

The one about the ghost haunting the family is called 'So Haunt Me'

I remember a kids show called Alfonzo Bonzo(?) I think he was an alien who liked to do swaps and then get into a whole heap of trouble grin nobody else ever remembers that show when I mention it

MadHattersWineParty Sat 03-Dec-16 14:24:58

Does anyone remember a little cartoon mongoose or similar that used to constantly say 'hoisky poisky'?

DramaInPyjamas Sat 03-Dec-16 14:27:57

And 'Last Chance Lottery' which was a 'Don't Forget Your Toothbrush' rip-off with Patrick Kielty

FrostyLeaves Sat 03-Dec-16 14:29:00

Does anyone remember Wanted (Channel 4), Would Like To Meet (BBC2) OR the one where the kids redecorate the houses when their parents went away on ITV that I always forget the name of.

FrostyLeaves Sat 03-Dec-16 14:31:28

Twas the 70s though..

I liked the Britta's Empire too. It never got the recognition it deserved imo!

HelenF350 Sat 03-Dec-16 14:32:01

228agreenend Sat 03-Dec-16 14:32:05

I loved The Brittas Empire.

Wooden mouse - was it an American series? I have a vague image of an old tv series of a group of boys going to,strange places. The boys were typically Americn looking.

Angels - does anyone remember this? It was about nurses. One of the actresses was the late Richard Whitely's partner. I remember one episode when she got a used of stealing things out of lockers. It turned out to be a workman, who coincedently was always around during her shifts.

FrostyLeaves Sat 03-Dec-16 14:32:57

I think I probably watched the entire output of Channel 4 in its early days.
