Very boring question, sorry.

Do you need to watch the first season before watching the second, or are they independent from one another?

Thanks :)

No, they can certainly be watched independently of each other.

They are independent, French detective is the same but the story lines are not the same.

Great, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.

Which one do you think is the best? Just out of curiosity.

Hard to say until the second one concludes, but ATM I'm leaning towards S1. Ive actually just fished the DVD out and am going to rewatch it.

I've just been watching the latest one, it really is very good! Uncomfortable at times but really interesting viewing!

I don't watch many things on BBC and haven't seen the first two but will be trying to find them to watch.

I misread as this was season three :( only one season to find then for me :)

The one on now. For me it's more intriguing, and I think the acting is better overall. Both are very good though; the first involved a younger boy so maybe more emotive.

I thought there were a few weak links in the cast of S1 but S2 cast is solid.

S1 much easier to follow, S2 jumps around A LOT.

I'm enjoying S2, but S1 was better IMO. Much more of an emotional impact, and the plot less contrived.

Season two is better.
