Thread one here

So, Sophie Giroux returned pretending to be Alice Webster. DNA results on the body in the shed confirm she is related to Sam.

Baptiste has found out about Henry Reed and the Brigadier being involved with a 9 year old girl in Iraq in 1991. Henry Reed was paying this girls brother.

There are 3 girls in the rollercoaster photo, Sophie, Alice and possibly the girl from Iraq? She has that colouring.

Henry Reed apparently committed suicide although Julien told Daniel he didn't. Whatever Daniel found out about him made him sick.

Nadia has been badly beaten and her husband is still in prison after being identified by Sophie/Alice. Matthew was made to promise to say sorry to the butcher.

Sophie is now in Switzerland. As is the newly spray painted yellow campervan that abducted Alice. Gemma and Baptiste doubt the DNA results as they are still looking for answers 2 years after she returned.

Birds keep being mentioned. Sophie and Alice both had the Web tattoo on their wrists.

Thanks for the summary Harry and for the new thread.
I must admit I'm scratching my head here. I need some answers now! Who has spoilers????

dogs where would i find spoilers like a cast list?

Report
whyistherumgone · 02/11/2016 23:18

I'm tempted to rewatch all three while I wait - I'm worried I'm getting slightly obsessed and the actual conclusion is going to be a let down!

Thanks for new thread HarryBlushFlowers

You are a wizard at summarising it all.

I'm wondering if the whole thing is Jullien's hallucinations brought on by the tumour?

Ok, prob not.

Episode 4 was titled "Statice".

What does that mean?

"You are a wizard at summarising it all." 😁😁

NO SPOILERS PLEASE! Even a cast list. Usually I love a spoiler but definitely not for this.

I like to sumarise it as it makes it clear in my mind too, I love a list Blush.

As previously mentioned...why didn't Gemma remember that the army lady-who is sleeping with Sam- was massively preggers?? Esp now we have seen the Gemma son ' caused' her to lose it.

Statice is another term for sea lavender according to Google. Confused

Statice was the name of the flowers, wasn't it? As you were.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 02/11/2016 23:25

Of course! The lavender flowers.

Yes it is very odd that Gemma appears to have forgotten Eve was heavily pregnant when 'Alice' returned. Can't be an oversight so maybe deliberate? Surely not a continuity error?

No, Defo deliberate. And I'm now over thinking ...but especially on a base. Things like pregnancy and the unfortunate loss of one would be spoken about. A lot. Also-who's the daddy??? Her & Sam weren't seeing each other then, I don't think

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 02/11/2016 23:29

The pregnancy thing was weird . If pregnant Eve and present day "Eve" are the same person she'd have been appalled surely by what Gemma said.

What is the significance of birds some of you are mentioning?

Well kudos to whoever said she'd burnt the body of the real Alice.

So does this mean the Brig was planning it all and giving her instructions?

Just a thought.....are we presuming the girls were actually taken originally? It was probably made clear they were, but what if they went voluntarily for some reason, say running away and it was prearranged? Maybe whoever they were with died of something and they couldn't manage alone? Like some kind of cult? They could've been groomed into it? Then SophieAlice got sick and had to find help? Haven't figured out the dna bit though - unless SophieAlice is Sam's daughter and went looking for her dad and told AliceSophie they were sisters and they prearranged to run away together? But where does Brig fit in....or 3rd girl....arghhhhhhhh!

Just ideas....it's late...I'm tired....amend VERY confused!

The "ever thought of having children" thing was weird. Can't work out the relevance

I think something happened in Iraq - abuse of young children - carried out by brigadier and henry Reid senior? Poor beaten up butchers wife either knew or suspected so that's why she left

Sophie somehow got an already dead Alice into the shed and set fire to it. Someone must have helped her tho?

And Sophie is now in Switzerland- why?

Was Henry Reid her captor? In cahoots with brigadier? Or maybe it was HR who helped her escape, does that time line fit?

TheSpottedZebra · 02/11/2016 23:37

Wait - we don't know that it WAS Sophie who returned, do we? It could have been Girl 3, or so e one else entirely? Monsieur Giroux hasn't id'd her, has he?

BlackDoglet · 02/11/2016 23:37

Does anyone think the Brig and the Butcher look alike?
Could it have been the brig taking the bondage photo?
More questions than answers again!

And in this video from twitter mobile.twitter.com/BBCOne/status/793934996247412737/video/1

who is the young girl, is it Alice, or don't we know?

Report

Oh yes. So when Sophie Alice spoke about leaving Alice to die in the place they were being kept.she could have easily popped back to pick up her body in the three hours that's she was gone-after visiting the grave and buying petrol...

I don't think anyone has ever actually escaped - I think the whole thing is manipulated by the kidnapper
