I know she was a killer as I've rwad about her story. I also rwad a more recent article where he living relatives said they never talk of her. I usually avoid this kind of deama/film ut u do like Joanne Froggatt so can't resist.

Is she really killing the babies? I thought it was just the husband she's killed so far, the kids have died of natural causes.

TheHiphopopotamus · 31/10/2016 21:51

I've just read on Wikipedia that it's possible she did kill some of her kids, but they don't know for certain.

I think the they've left it quite ambiguous though.

hmmmmmmmm i think some died of the time and some she killed, the one's that maybe got in her way

wow she has become so cold to what she was

Well that's her mother gone now.

Hmm, I felt sorry for her at first. I can't imagine living in grinding, relentless poverty like she was at the beginning.

But now she's offing anyone who slightly gets on her nerves a bit Confused Must have been so easy in those days, makes you wonder about some of the stuff others might have gotten away with.

Nice to see lovely Saltburn on the screen too.

I quite enjoyed it. Wasn't sure what I was watching at first.

Goodness this woman was so evil , not at first maybe, but once she realised she could get away with it, she just carried on.
I hadn't heard of her before now, had a look on wiki and they say 21 victims.
her birth day is recorded as 31st October too!

I believe Joanne Froggatt is also the voice of SMA baby milk... kind of an unfortunate pairing, considering she spent a goodly part of last night taking down children by feeding them arsenic. I wonder if SMA will be renewing her contract?

Report
FlameGrower · 01/11/2016 10:59

I always though the SMA voice was Jodie Whittaker's. The mum from Broadchurch.

In some ways, the deaths became a bit rushed, so the second husband's death wasn't really affecting, unlike the first's. Fascinating story, but the occasional over-the-top sex scenes are a bit unnecessary!

seasidesally · 01/11/2016 15:30

sex scenes,i couldnt work out why she kept going back to him,the sex was very fumbled and crude, dont know what she saw in him, certainly cant be that Confused

Just started watching it on catch up, it's good so far.
Mostly watching it cos I'm excited to see Saltburn on the telly though Grin

Silly me, I thought Saltburn was the surname of an actor in the programme! Had to look it up. I didn't know it was a seaside resort!

Isn't the second husband William the footman from Downton?

Report
corythatwas · 03/11/2016 15:51

Yes, he is.

This is the second TV series I have started watching recently because of the fine performance of one of its actors in Downton and have found disappointing. Not because Frogatt isn't good- she is- but because the way the story is told: it's so hurried and with no real depth to it. By the end of it I was finding it hard not to snigger when the Teapot of Doom came down from the shelf again.

(The other series was The Level, with Rob James-Collier in it, which has turned out to be pretty tedious. I'm beginning to think that whatever Julian Fellowes' limitations, he is actually quite good at writing good scenes for his actors.)
