Anyone watching the second series? Loved the first series and this is shaping up to be equally as good!

God, it looks grim there , doesn't inspire me to visit at ALL, I almost want a shower after watching!

didldidi Mon 24-Oct-16 07:24:35

I didn't know it was back! Thanks for that - What channel?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Mon 24-Oct-16 16:38:56

macy188 Mon 24-Oct-16 20:54:22

Me! No one I know has even heard of it, I loved the first series

didldidi Sat 29-Oct-16 08:21:09

So I have caught up - joy is looking a lot better now! Good to see majlis is still alive but I can't remember what happened to chan?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Sat 29-Oct-16 08:59:59

Who was Chan?

The whole thing with Joy acting like her mum was heartbreaking, poor Weildasad

didldidi Sat 29-Oct-16 17:12:27

Chan is pongs dad.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Sat 29-Oct-16 17:15:05

Oh of course, did he die in the tsunami?

I can't believe the girls haven't gone back to the beach houses their mum was building.

sonnybeaudelaire Sat 29-Oct-16 17:24:52

I don't think the girls know about them do they - I got the impression they were a surprise and the mum died before she got to tell them? Joy and Wilda were always vague about what she was working on in the first programme of the second series.

I loved the first series and am really glad it's back. There are so many good characters who are multi-faceted and ambiguous - so good to get away from the 'good v evil characters' which are so common in dramas!

didldidi Sun 30-Oct-16 08:16:21

Yes the letters she wrote to the girls got put away in a box in a shed.

macy188 Thu 03-Nov-16 18:21:07

I loved that!!

macy188 Thu 03-Nov-16 18:21:37

I'm starting to really dislike majlis x

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Thu 03-Nov-16 20:18:53

Yes, she needs to redeem herself pretty quickly.

TownMouseCuntMouse Sat 05-Nov-16 17:19:04

I love this programme - actually just recommended it on another thread! I've never met anyone else who watches it.

I was wondering about Chan too. Did he die? I watched the first series so long ago i can't really remember.

macy188 Sat 05-Nov-16 20:47:06

I re watched the first series the other week. Can was unhurt by the tsunami and made up with joy and wild as mum to help search for the kids. I guess maybe because joy and pong aren't together anymore maybe he isn't in it at the moment .

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Thu 17-Nov-16 16:39:50

Oh God , the sound of the tyres of the car pulling away at the end...shock

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Thu 24-Nov-16 16:17:14

Are you still watching?

I think that was the most gripping episode yet!

LunaLoveg00d Thu 24-Nov-16 17:57:28

I loved the first series of this and can't wait to catch up on the second one.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Thu 24-Nov-16 20:57:26

Imo It's possibly better than the first!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Sun 27-Nov-16 12:36:35

I ordered both box sets for my dad for Xmas, they've arrived, do you think l would be unreasonable to open it and watch the last episode instead of waiting until next week?wink

LunaLoveg00d Wed 21-Dec-16 14:23:21

Have just seen the last episode of the second series - totally agree that it's great to see characters who are not just good or bad. Majlis did the right thing in the end for Teng, and the girls' dad turned out OK too. I love the relationship between Oh and Glenn too. Even Johann wasn't as awful as I'd originally thought he might be.

Anyone know if they're making another series?
