Thought it was fun, but probably not very accurate.

Yes that's my take on it as well. I liked it though but I'm going to miss Victoria on a Sunday evening.

I just watched it on catch-up and loved it. I love the desert scenery and I think it'll get pretty dramatic with the war as a backdrop. Plus I'm quite fond of Sam Neill so it's ticking all my boxes so far...

Loved it. Do you think they switched the Indian Summers budget to it?

I enjoyed it but didn't think they did a great job of making it particularly dramatic - we know that Howard Carter did find Tutankhamun's tomb, so it didn't really carry any weight for me when little Evelyn came in to announce that it had been found. I want them to focus more on the human relationships since those are less historically documented and have more scope for drama! In the trailer for the next one Maggie seemed to be shouting about another woman - Evelyn, perhaps, all grown up after the war?

Anyone else watched last night's yet?

Yes! Not sure about the chemistry between Carter and the Lady! Think it was better with the woman archaeologist. Apparently Lord C's great-something grandson says there was no such affair, and that Carter was a bit of a loner.sad

I read that somewhere as well clawdy, I'm excited for next week's now it's picking up a bit. Shame it's not that historically accurate but I'm trying to just see it as a show not as a documentary. The whole step thing isn't being done accurately but I'm still quite excited.

I missed the first one. But got it on Catch up. It's not caught my attention like Victoria. Will still keep watching though.
