What no Only Fools on that list?

From that selection I'd vote for 5, 6, 7, 10 got abit samey, 13 and 18
I also loved episodes.

I hate Mrs Brown's Boys but then a couple of years ago (maybe more than a couple) it was My Family topping the list which was also a bit shit.

Mrs Brown's Boys is so very, very awful.

I actually concur with much of the list. But Mrs Brown's Boys..Sad

I have only seen Mrs Browns and I actually enjoy it.

Dear lord, it's an absolute heap of shit, really really awful. My sister loves it, I cannot fathom why, she's an intelligent grown woman!

I just watched The Office on Netflix having missed it completely first time round. I thought we might be seeing the movie in the cinema so I'd prepare.

Did not get it. Some bits were mildly amusing but that's all. I thought Extras was one of the funniest sitcoms ever though.

I thing MBB is ok. I had a friend who recently died at age 100 who adored the show. She collected the DVDs and watched them regularly. Her very well to do DD DID NOT APPROVE which made me smile.

Mrs Browns Boys makes me cackle like a fishwife. Blush I have a very juvenile sense of humour.

Peter Kay's Car Share at #3 though?? I've never heard anyone even talk about it, let alone eulogise it as comedy gold.

If you want a pile of shit try the reboot of Are You Being Served currently on BBC.

What's Count Arthur Strong? I've never heard of that one.

Only Fools only had a couple of 21st century episodes Crow. And they weren't great.

I always think I hate Mrs Browns Boys but then I watch an episode and I don't. I don't particularly like it but don't hate it. Certainly not top of the list worthy though!

What no Only Fools on that list?

I think it has to have started in the 21st century. So no Spaced or One Foot In The Grave for instance.

Also I should have said British sitcom in the title.

Peep Show would be at the top for me, followed by Black Books. I adore both of those so much.

I don't get Mbb. My other half and exH are both if Irish descent and find it absolutely hilarious.

My absolute favourites are:

  4. Black Books

Then either Not Going Out, House Of Fools or Episodes in fifth.

Phoenix Nights was brilliant. As was the Max and Paddy spin off. If we're going for a walk I still sing 'lets get ready to ramble'

I hate Mrs Browns boys too... Like most of the others on the list.

Someone mentioned about the remake/update of "are you being served" why do they keep doing this, I saw a clip for a remake/update of "open all hours" No No No it's terrible, should be left firmly in the past.

Plebs is one of my favourite comedies ever, never mind the 21st Century, but it never features in any list. It's been BAFTA nominated and won the best scripted comedy award from the Royal Television Society. It's really funny and quirky!

Don't like MBB at all, I'm afraid. I like quite a few of the others, and would rate all of them higher than MBB. Dh's parents are great fans. Maybe it's because it has a rather old-fashioned traditional situation comedy feel about it.

I'm not a fan of Mrs Brown's Boys. At all. Although I admire him for spotting a massive untapped audience.

Fresh Meat isn't on that list, which surprises me. Loved that.

I really hope we get a Brexit version of The Thick Of It.

Apparently his live shows are total monsters - booked out for months.

His mother was pretty interesting - she was a politician! May be why Mrs Brown is such a strong character!

This is the shortlist of 40 that people had to choose from (it may explain some of the omissions): www.comedy.co.uk/tv/news/2167/radio_times_sitcom_poll
