I've spent the last two hours in front of the PC watching the Olympic Breakfast news. Nothing's happened yet but I can't peel myself away.

RatOnnaStick Sat 06-Aug-16 09:20:00

Swimming and cycling and gymnastics for us. DS1 is currently watching diving from 2012. We've also done 100m and the relays from 2012 this morning, and the velodrome pursuit races.

I will watch absolutely any events during the next two weeks! DH & I went to the second Saturday of the athletics in 2012 and it was one of thee best experiences of my life.

I will definitely be watching the swimming, gymnastics, athletics, rowing, cycling, tennis. I also like the weight lifting grin

I will watch anything I can as well but my favourites are athletics and Volleyball (not beach, the proper one) and gymnastics and the swimming.

SorrelForbes Sat 06-Aug-16 09:29:37

It was incredible. I cried. DH (not a sports fan) was most impressed by the world's largest MacDonalds in the Olympic Park grin

Anaffaquine123 Sat 06-Aug-16 09:29:38

My pictures from the athletics at 2012 are all over my timehop just now. It was a fantastic experience. We will be watching anything we can over the next couple of weeks but definitely record gymnastics.

MrsPnut Sat 06-Aug-16 09:33:47

I shall record the Judo today, DD2 is away and she will want to watch it. Ashley MacKenzie came to their dojo not long ago to run a training session so she wants to watch him fight.
We'll also be watching the rugby sevens and the swimming.

Marking my place. I'll be checking it later today.

SorrelForbes Sat 06-Aug-16 09:39:29

I confess that I spent our holiday budget on the two tickets to the athletics. We had a two week staycation watching it all on the TV instead. I was very happy!

RatOnnaStick Sat 06-Aug-16 09:47:50

I would have done that too, Sorrell, for the gymnastics, aquatics, velodrome, athletics but we didn't get hold of any tickets. Never mind.

all the ways to watch events live or online

SorrelForbes Sat 06-Aug-16 09:51:26

I bought the tickets at the end of the first week when loads were released. I must have spent hours on my laptop just refreshing the screen until I got some! Worth it though.

Can't believe it's four years ago.

jay55 Sat 06-Aug-16 09:54:11

I'm going nuts waiting for the gym to start in a few hours, nervous and excited.

megletthesecond Sat 06-Aug-16 09:57:30

Here. Isn't Froome a potential medal today?

cathyandclaire Sat 06-Aug-16 09:59:39

Sorrell that's my main memory of 2012 too, constantly refreshing to get tickets. I was a woman possessed and eventually got tickets when they were released at 1am on super Saturday. Worth every penny!
What a great summer that was.

Equiem89 Sat 06-Aug-16 10:03:53

Can't wait to watch the equestrian events, especially the dressage and the cross country

SorrelForbes Sat 06-Aug-16 10:05:49

cathyandclaire (great user name btw), glad it wasn't just me then! My husband thought that I'd completely lost the plot.

BikeRunSki Sat 06-Aug-16 10:15:13

Cycling here anyway, but swimming too as my boss's daughter is in it!!!!!! I've worked with her dad for 12 years, since she was 5.

TaliZorahVasNormandy Sat 06-Aug-16 10:17:38

Checking in. I couldnt stay awake for the ceremony.

Checking in! I fell asleep halfway through the athletes walking in last night grin

Did Australia get beaten in the 'worst outfit' stakes?

Looking forwards to swimming, gymnastics and judo.

TaliZorahVasNormandy Sat 06-Aug-16 10:58:47

Sweden gave them a ran for their money Ovaries.

RedToothBrush Sat 06-Aug-16 11:56:03

This is return of Redtoothbrush’s day by day watch list to the Olympics.
I did this 4 years ago and got positive feedback, so I’m going to try and do again.

The plan is to list all the medal BY TIME during the day plus British interest where possible.

Hopefully I’ll get better at this as it goes along. I apologise in advance for any errors.

Medal Prediction for GB and NI
Among the boffins with their virtual medal tables, Gracenote has predicted that Team GB will hit third with a haul of 56. At Wolverhampton University, Professor Alan Nevill’s mathematical formulae has predicted they will fall just short of their target with 46.
What is your prediction?
