That is a great idea. Good that it will leave a lasting impact. Can't say I was hugely gripped with the show, wouldn't call it spectacular or carnival like.

Haven't seen the ceremony yet.

Watching the cycling now. I watched the same race in 2012 for about 4 hours and to this day I have no idea what it was about.

I'll be glued to it whatever. And the scenery...wtf?

Rio is an incredibly beautiful city, just super stunning. My favourite city in the world.

The ceremony was a bit of a let down, Brazil could have done much better and judging by the other thread the BBC screwed up the sound so people in the UK couldn't hear it probably. You'd think they could have at least got their act together. I watched in Brazil half on a US channel and half in a Brazilian one and the sound was amazing.

I watched the first hour of the ceremony and then went to bed, no way could I stay up till 4am for the whole thing. The little I watched looked lovely, I've only ever been interested in the gymnastics portion but I've seen a picture of Ning Zetao & I will most certainly try & catch male swimming this time.

I am not a sporty person but love the women's rhythmic gymnastics. Cannot find when it is on, though.

Also find the men's butterfly swimming rather stunning especially when the cameras show them under the water..
