This is a MUST WATCH programme to see on catch-up with the whole family.

BBC i player 'Imagine Special- One night in 2012'

As you can tell from my user name I am a big olympic fan. This programme is the making of the opening ceremony through the eyes of the volunteers, the creators and technical experts. A fascinating watch which will move you and make you feel very proud of being British and what we created in 2012.

Do watch it!!

It was fab. All those amazing memories. I had no idea those chimneys were blow-ups; wtf!

Best opening ceremony ever. Beat that, RioGrin.

Watching this now - truly epic. I started crying at the start and haven't really stopped. Just loving it.

Great memories from 2012 plus learning about the extraordinary indivduals involved. Wonderful

Anyone else got the 'drum so your mum...' as an earworm?

So pleased I posted this.

I have watched it twice!

I found the memorial wall so moving. I don't remember it from the night but what a lovely thing Danny Boyle did to have his dad and other loved ones included in such a special evening. It had me blubbing.

I loved Giles Cohen part at the end and also the amazing drumming on bins with sticks and tennis balls!

DH and I watched that on iplayer last week, it was really interesting, I'd never really thought about how the opening ceremony was all put together.

We then watched the opening ceremony again (got it on dvd) - it really took me back to 4 years ago, amazing memories, I loved the London Olympics. Not sure another one will ever compare for me.

I've got the dvd as well, which I'm going to watch again. It was so special. It must've been fantastic having all that on your doorstep and watching the transformation of the area.

I couldn't get near the Stadium itself so we went to ser the Women's Walk by Buck House. Great view, and free, of course.

I loved the fact that Danny Boyle made the ceremony all about the people, and celebrated the real greatness of Britain; Brunel, the NHS, the music and even HMtheQ had a walk on part.

Fabulous night blub.
