Let's hope this series will be better then last one

Obviously you will save money if not buying the most exspensive items every week /spending £200/300

How about helping a family who spend £50/60 and need to cut it down even more

Tho do love the taste challenge esp when they say something is disgusting - and it's their usual posh brand 😂😂😂

On soon smile

shash1982 Wed 13-Jul-16 20:10:50

Ooh, didn't know it was on!

Thanks for the heads up OP.

mrsclooneytoyou Wed 13-Jul-16 20:16:52

16k a year in food...I would die if I spent that

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Jul-16 20:18:02

Welcome shash smile

I'm a few mins behind but pmsl at the crackers

Agree prepared veg is easier and quicker disclaimer I may buy pre packed 😳😳😳

But Obv will save lots if buy loose carrots and peel and chop

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Jul-16 20:21:08

Mrs clooney that a years salary for some

I was in a temp nanny/HK job recently and did their shopping weekly on a mon and fri.

Mon would be £180 and fri another hundred at least - plus bread from farm shop etc - easily £300 a week. I was shocked each week buying it all

unimagmative13 Wed 13-Jul-16 20:24:13

I agree, I hate these family who just buy all the expensive stuff. Piss easy to cut their shopping!!

I by some brands if they are on offer and cheaper than supermarket own.
Also some firm favs such as Fairy liquid and Heinz beans.

As above I want to cut my £70 bill that I try to cut down as it is.

ellenanora5 Wed 13-Jul-16 20:32:59

I don't understand why it never dawned on them to look at how much their shopping was costing them, and buying crackers like that is mad, it's not rocket science to know that you can keep them fresh in a ziplock bag.

Oh my god, did he say how do you make popcorn without the microwave bag shock

Sorry I'm way behind, had it paused for a bit.

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Jul-16 20:37:59

Excalty. Hence whole love to see a normal family struggling to pay their weekly bill to be able to decrease it by 10/15 a week

Over the year that would be 500/750 saved / which to some Families would be a fortune

The chicken stir fry looks amazing 😂

unimagmative13 Wed 13-Jul-16 20:42:42

Egg fried rice is not a meal hmm

ellenanora5 Wed 13-Jul-16 20:44:47

Blondes, my ds does a gorgeous stir fry, he gets all his recipes from the tasty Facebook page, and they work out really good value, it's a great page, check it out if you are on Facebook smile

madasamarchhare Wed 13-Jul-16 20:49:19

I agree I wish they would focus on families that spend around 100 per week and help them save money. Of course you can save100 a week if you're spending 250!!

ellenanora5 Wed 13-Jul-16 20:49:31

I've always wanted one of those tomato squeezy things for ketchup grin never see them anywhere to buy one.

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Jul-16 20:56:11

Thanks ellen indeed I am on FB smile

mrsclooneytoyou Wed 13-Jul-16 21:01:21

Lakeland and Ebay have them Ellen

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Jul-16 21:10:03

As and always the taste challenge proved them wrong

Brown sauce - yes this is def mine and wasn't

Wine - yuk that's awful and was her usual brand

ellenanora5 Wed 13-Jul-16 21:10:33

Ooh thankyou mrsclooney grin I'm off to eBay

expatinscotland Wed 13-Jul-16 21:12:08

'Egg fried rice is not a meal hmm'

It is for millions of people in the world. hmm

ellenanora5 Wed 13-Jul-16 21:15:15

It's funny isn't it blondes, sometimes we really do eat with our eyes, if we don't like the look of it, we're not eating it grin

unimagmative13 Wed 13-Jul-16 21:17:47

I posted that when they said it and it did look bulkier than I thought. I was thinking egg rice and peas.

My hubby wouldn't let me serve it as dinner but that's a whole other thread.

SugarMiceInTheRain Wed 13-Jul-16 21:20:26

I couldn't help watching the last series even though it was ridiculously easy to slash their grocery bills. I want help for people like me, who only buy branded stuff if it's on such a good offer that it's cheaper than the value/ own brand! Will have to watch this on catch up when the kids are finally in bed - they're an hour late settling down so far... hmm

Blondeshavemorefun Wed 13-Jul-16 21:23:34

sugar maybe you should contact them on behalf of mn and say do a series that helps all whose budget doesn't allow to buy premium named brands

shitwithsugaron Wed 13-Jul-16 21:26:24

I've just watched this with DH and it's just obscene the money being wasted.
