Love this show, anyone else watching?

DriveMeToTennessee Sun 22-May-16 21:08:06

Is this a brand new one? I remember watching it years ago and enjoying it

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Sun 22-May-16 21:09:43

New ones, though not sure if they aren't remakes of the Swedish ones shown on BBC4.

StillStayingClassySanDiego Sun 22-May-16 21:12:24

New and Ken is so watchable.

I just persuaded DH to watch this as we are both big Scandi crime drama fans.
As much as I enjoy watching Kenneth Brannagh, I'm finding it a bit slow compared to The Killing or The Bridge. And as he was being held at gunpoint in his hotel room all I could think was Sarah Lund would NEVER find herself in this position ...he's supposed to be a detective FFShmmhmm

Travelledtheworld Sun 22-May-16 22:00:49

Signing in here.
Love Wallander, and Kenny !
Great to have a change of scene.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Sun 22-May-16 22:01:57

Not sure about tonight's.

Travelledtheworld Sun 22-May-16 22:03:01

Yes it is a bit slow but it helps build the tension.
And I love Kens bleached blonde hair.

Travelledtheworld Sun 22-May-16 22:15:38

In the Swedish version, doesn't he retire because he has Alzheimers or a drinking problem or something ?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Sun 22-May-16 22:18:39

Alzheimers.

Davros Sun 22-May-16 22:19:04

Sounds upbeat!

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Sun 22-May-16 22:24:18

Well, it's Swedish.

bakeoffcake Sun 22-May-16 22:29:24

I've never watched before and found it incredibly slow. I switched off after half an hour.

Did it get any better?

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe Sun 22-May-16 22:30:23

Sorry, didn't like today's episode.

Davros Sun 22-May-16 22:33:29

I love KB and I think he's going grey, not bleached. It is a bit strange - Swedish story/programme adapted into English, set in South Africa. I am enjoying it (on delay)

NoahVale Sun 22-May-16 22:38:34

I love Kenneth Brannagh, this was ace, well, ok, but enjoyable

Travelledtheworld Sun 22-May-16 23:21:21

Well I couldn't figure out his hair. It was definitely grey at the back but it looked blonde at the front to me [deep analysis of her drama, here].
Nice filming though, those big dusty landscapes.

StillStayingClassySanDiego Mon 23-May-16 07:20:03

We enjoyed it although I agree about the slowness, my eyes were closing at points.

Hope it's back in Sweden next week.

NoahVale Mon 23-May-16 08:10:15

DH couldnt stay up to see the end, quite glad it was one story, rather than a continuation

SalmonMaki Mon 23-May-16 08:18:53

Recorded last night, will be watching today. I loved the previous KB Wallander series.

Don't suppose Hiddleston is in this series? <<wishful>>

Cunties Mon 23-May-16 16:55:26

It was okay but not thrilling. I'll give it a go next week but if it's still a bit slow then bye bye Ken

StillStayingClassySanDiego Tue 24-May-16 18:15:58

Ken's on the radio!, God I love him and his voice grin <fuckin' swoon>

gingerboy1912 Wed 25-May-16 11:08:52

Any idea where I can watch last weeks episode?

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut Wed 25-May-16 11:27:46

It was on I player. I watched it and I still don't really know what happened!

fussychica Wed 25-May-16 14:16:02

Not the best episode but enjoyable nonetheless. Love KB but actually prefer the Swedish version of this series.
