Did anyone else see this on BBC1 last night?

It wasn't really good with some a.aging footage of elephants.

It also introduced to to the idea of orphan herds :(

I'm still a bit disturbed this morning about all the dead elephant corpses and the young elephants trying to survive without them.

I recommend it on iPlayer.

Liz Bonnin did a great job as presenter.

It was really good. Some amazing footage of elephants.

African elephants.

Sorry for typos.

I closed my eyes and stuck my fingers in my ears singing la la la for the gruesome bits.

I am an avid devotee of all things elephant so not much of it was new to me. EXCEPT THE EATING OF THE WEAVER NESTS. I was Shock Shock Shock to the point that I messaged Saba D H on FB.

I did find the style a bit 'sensationalist' though.

Was it vegetation, eggs, or chicksomething they wanted to eat, do you think?

I reckon they'very got a taste for eggs.

Although I suppose bird'species nest soup is a delicacy.

I liked the style of it. I lovedo Tom/Bob the cameraman who was so afraid of/in awe of Matt. 😁🐘

I've no idea what they were after - apparently it is a behaviour never witnessed before. Really strange.

Yes it was quite telling that the male presenter was petrified of Matt, whereas Saba just chilled.

I have spent many happy hours watching a weaver bird in my brother's garden, busily building a nest each day, bringing his partner along for a viewing in the late afernoon, she turns her beak up in disgust, the male then shreds the nest and starts all over again. Repeat daily until Mrs Weaver is satsified.

To then have a jeffing elephant come along and eat it Shock

LOL Grin

I didn't know about the trials of the poor male weaver bird.

Did they cut the shagging short to spare Eleblushes, or did Matt walk all that way dribbling wee everywhere for 2 seconds of pleasure?

For some random reason I missed the shagging - I think I got a message on my phone, blinked, and missed it.

I doubt it lasts long...........

Your inner prude must have been protecting you. 😮

Matt has a giant wang, as befits a bull of his stature.
