I loved it and thoughtif that kind of 'illusion' is possile, then perhaps Jon Snow being dead is also an illusion. Or maybe just my wishful thinking.

I am fuming that I have to wait another week, then another and another! This is why I usually wait til a series is finished before I watch it. I started GoT 2 years ago and was so glad I didn't do it any sooner or I'd have gone mad by now. Is it awful to hope for a leak of some extra episodes the same as last year?

Anyway....the episode was really good, not a massive amount in it but that ending was a shock to me. Although it does make sense as she has said before (to Stannis' wife about the bottles in her room) that she creates a lot of illusion so not a big stretch to see her appearance is an illusion of sorts too.

So very happy to see Brienne rescue Sansa (for now, I feel there's plenty more trouble coming their way) as when the Bolton men found her in the tree roots I was gutted that Ramsey would be able to make her pay for what she has done. I think she's suffered enough now and would like to see her make it to Castle Black, even if Jon is dead(ish).

Speaking of Jon, I don't know. I really don't. After rewatching the entire show last month I realised I don't actually like him as much as others do. He's a bit dull. But I do like what he stands for and liked his storyline up until now. Hopefully The Red Woman can bring him back to life and we don't end up with a watered down version of him or an altered version (all Lord of Light loving and ready to follow the advice of The Red Woman).

Liked the Dorne scenes. I was actually think Elaria was right, he is weak and didn't avenge his siblings so he should go. Just not sure what she is planning and I actually liked Marcella so was a bit pissed she killed her instead of taking the fight to Cersei herself. And I honestly thought Tristain would kill at least one of the sand snakes before Bronn or Jamie rescued him. Shocked by the spear to the face.

I have to get me one of those necklaces. The Sand Snakes can't act for toffee btw

Report
nipersvest · 25/04/2016 11:30

if that necklace can do that for the red women, i wonder what it can do if it was placed round the neck of jon snow?

I think I'm the person who really doesn't care if JS is dead. In fact I hope he is - don't want any more surprise resurrections - what's the point in killing characters off and then just bringing them back? It's like bleedin Eastenders Grin

Was more 'oh' about red woman than shocked. Delighted about Brienne arriving to rescue Sansa and Theon. They've been through enough!

OOh emily, like that idea of illusion, it was a bit weird he was just lying there. I am expecting him to wake up wightwalker style.

I wasn't surprised by the redwoman, but thought it was an excellent and strange way to end the episode rather than the anticipated resurrection. She doesn't 'seem young', I figured she most be older than she looked and she is a witch after all, it reminded me of tangled Grin Interesting how she looked sad, pos about the fact she was wrong about her prophecy for stannis?

It was bordering cheesy, but I loved the Sansa and theon scene, I think because it was entirely possible in GoT that the shit thing will happen it was an air-punch moment when it didn't, esp when theon killed the last soldier.

Quite liked that cersei didnt blame Jamie and that they are united, even though I don't esp like that relationship. I did like him turning 'good' though and wanted him to end up with brianna so guess thats all off!

I think they'd burn him to stop him turning into a wight. It's very convenient they're keeping his body around.

I thought the Dornish prince whose name I've forgotten was on the ship with Jaime and Marcella. Obviously not. Why was he painting the stone eye? Did he know that she was dead?

NuggetofPurestGreen · 25/04/2016 13:57

he was on the ship, they must have followed them? I thought he was sent to KL to marry Myrcella.

Just checked last ep of season 5 and Trystane definitely got on the ship.

Report
wickedlazy · 25/04/2016 14:31

Did Jaime maybe put Tristane ashore after Myrcella died?

Well after Ellaria killed Doran and she said 'no son of yours shall ever rule Dorne' it cut to exterior of a ship and then the Sand Snakes going into Trystane's room (which looked like a cabin). Was there two ships maybe?

NuggetofPurestGreen · 25/04/2016 14:34

Or maybe they sent him back after Myrcella died as you say.

Trystane and Myrcella - that's it. It's not worth me remembering them now, poor children.

It did look like the inside of a ship's cabin

Young Melisandre has amazing tits with really high up nipples. I don't think mine were ever like that and they won't be now Sad I'm contemplating death or the body of the old Mel. I'm thinking about it...

Defo more old mel here too - despairs

Yumyum, she's sort of like 'crone' too, one of the old gods. Or is she kind of a faceless man too? She sent a 'shadow' to kill Renly so I wonder what kind of illusions she is capable of.

There was an article on Azor Azhai and how he may be related to Zoroastrianism which was interesting.

I wasn't overly impressed. It was a bit anti climax. The best part was the sansa and theon scene.

I absolutely loved it. Best bit was Brienne swearing fealty to Sansa, but it was good to have a roundup of most of the key characters. I particularly liked Ramsay's order about what to do with Myranda's body. Shock Grin

I started watching in season 4. I binge watched the first 8 episodes in one day.
So frustrating having to wait a week!
Loved Brienne rescuing Sansa, the Dothraki when they realised Dany could understand them!
Are there rumours about the Dothraki being her army and she manages to get them over the sea?

I can't for the life of me remember what happened to Aria's eyes and why she is blind!?

That'd be my theory, equiem. Was disappointed in all the Mereen scenes, especially the burning the ships at harbour. Danaerys is clearly not getting to westeros this season Sad

Also, there is no back story on the sparrows. Why / how have they maintained power now cersei has been released and Jaime is back?

I have another theory re Braavos and the bank being connected somehow to the faceless men, and the bankrolling various Westerosi factions (Lannisters and Stannis). I think they might end up backing Danaerys, and providing ships to invade, in order to somehow get their loans repaid, seeing as the Lannisters are clearly on a sticky wicket re holding onto the final heir and iron throne...
