Just seen the last episode for this week, where the couple from the Courthouse won. Am definitely over invested (procrastinating) but I had a look at their prices on the web, and going from what they said (££££s for special events, otherwise what they charged on air) every night is now a special event...and IMO they were the necessarily nasty to the last establishment.

Quite often, it seems to be the case that the most unpleasant people win, especially on this programme. Confused

Anyone else see this?

Was that the boutique hotel?

Yes, that's right, where they claimed their usual prices were less than £100 a night

I always wonder how they make a living when PremierInn and Travel Lodge offer such better deals and/or Air B&B. The ones who charge £120+night to stay in a yurt (in Britain) with a compost toilet and shower 100m away, 4 night min stay and cook your own food always make me laugh, too. I'm sure people are just beating down their doors to do that.

Yes, I know what you mean. I also wonder about the people who enter but run luxury places, given that the criterion for winning is supposed to be value for money

I love this program but it does annoy me when people look for dust/hairs in the places I wouldn't dream of looking.
Why the hell would you pull a sink trap thing out of the shower?????

I hate the game players but love the quirky places with odd characters who run them.

I also watched this week's episodes. The winning couple gave an incredibly garbled answer when asked about prices initially (something about having two more rooms). Surely if you've nothing to hide you say outright that the peak rate is x and the off-peak rate is why?

Really seemed dodgy to me.

And the boot camp one looked terrible - weirdly themed rooms, one lady doing everything, son friendly but pretty useless.

I agree re the looking for dust thing.

Sometimes they will strip the bed to the mattress and then they're all 'A-HA!' when they find an eyelash.

Its a farce but I can't help watching it. People just show themselves up with their underhand tactics that I would never stay at their places anyway. The best people that came out of it was the mum and son imo. The rest were a bit shady.

They don't understand that everyone is watching and can see their game playing - its ridiculous.

I liked the one with Steph and Dom in.

I think they need to change the format. The exposure to the comments makes it too easy to be tactical.

Another thing that really pees me off is the breakfast requests. Surely when you go to a B and B you eat whatever is on the menu and basically get what you are given?
It's just rude I think to start requesting cooking times of how long you want your egg to be cooked for.
