best and worst kids tv youve been forced to watch?

choccyhobnobaddict · 13/02/2016 13:10

So after being forced to watch all sorts of weird and (occasionally) wonderfull kids tv shows for the past 6 Years it strikes me that there is only one or two I don't actually mind watching Sofia the first which my dd LOVES and Ben and holly which I actually lol at Hmm
But the majority I find truely awful - Goldie and bear is my new rage inducer but there's plenty of others I can't stand - micky mouse, waybolu... And the controversial choice of Mr tumble runs for cover
Wink
What do other parents love and hate?

I like Ben and Holly and can tolerate Peppa. Sarah and Duck is ok. And Night Garden.

Can't stand Paw Patrol, Blaze & the monster 'achines', Bubble Guppies, Strawberry Shortcake, Alvin and the bloody chipmunks.

I'd much sooner watch a Disney film.

I can't stand Mr Tumble either but at least Something Special has a purpose in providing inclusive TV for children with SN. Justin's House on the other hand can feck right off.

I tolerate B&H and Justin's House (purely because of Robert)

Loathe anything American and super twee (yes Dora in the City I'm looking at you)

Like Hey Duggee, Peg + Cat, Ben and Holly, Sarah and Duck.

Hate Peppa Pig, Topsy and Tim, whatever the Mr Tumble sketch show is, Waybuloo, pretty much every other show on Nickelodeon.

DD is currently obsessed with Paw Patrol and I didn't mind it to begin with but after months of watching it, playing it, reading it, over and over and over and over again, it's starting to make me twitch whenever I hear the theme tune.

Loathe: Blaze. I hate Paw Patrol but Blaze actually makes me want to pull the wheels off a car. "Can you say TRAJECTORY?!" Aaaaaahhh! !!

Love: Sarah & Duck. And Puffin Rock. Ben & Holly is quite funny especially when Nanny Plum has a snot on. My absolute favourite though is Harvey Beaks on Nick Jr. It cracks me up.

Posting for the parents of older children now, but Suite Life on Deck, Good Luck Charlie, Wizards of Waverley Place et al. Terrible TV. Terrible American children screeching.

But I could watch Spongebob Squarepants all day.

We watch endless Paw Patrol and my little pony which are awful, but I do like the Octonauts, but have seen them all many times. Night garden is the worst.

I hate, hate, hate Bing and his whinging, whiny voice.

Used to turn off Horrid Henry when ds was younger as I thought it sat a bad example. Have since watched it with dd and can see the parents are actually the problem with their blatant favouritism of his brother and the main reason Henry acts out.

Ben and Holly I can tolerate, wouldn't go so far as to say I like it.

In the night garden really gave me the rage when dd was younger. Now she is older she sometimes watches Jessie which I hate with a passion, I hate to admit it but I did like Hannah Montana, victorious and wizards of waverly place and I really loved phineas and ferb and will even watch it when nobody else is around

Bing drives me mad! We stopped watching it after he threw the mobile phone away in the bin (!!) after breaking it (I'm pretty sure he had already been told not to play with it) and all he got when he was found out was barely a telling off! I would of gone ape shit!

Worst - Dora The Explorer. Thought I would love it, the whole idea of it - but it's so cheesy and basic. Also my relatives gave my daughter a bedtime Dora doll. Fine except she shouts out goodnight really loudly at the slightest touch so the opposite of a good bedtime toy really.

Best - Curious George and Little Princess, but Curious George is a favourite in our house. We go to a museum DD says, George has been to a museum. If she has to figure something out she sometimes tells us she did it just like George. She did also really like a BBC thing - Melody? Oh, and she still asks to see the Mog Christmas advert on my phone a lot.

Show me show me... The cheesiness of them two just grated on me.
DS used to love Timmy time, Shaun the sheep and fireman Sam which i would just sit and watch myself with him Grin
He's older now and into wwe. Not a kids show but it gives me the rage

That bastarding purple dinosaur, I won't mention his name Angry
and Dora is way too shouty

I used to like Come Outside and Shaun the Sheep.

Fortunately DS is in his teens now so I've never really had the pleasure of Peppa or B&H
