Such a great idea for a show! A group of older celebs go to India to find out what it might really be like to retire out there. Fascinated to see how they get on ( especially as I've spent 4 months living out there so know a bit what the culture's like...)

Me! I am 60 so this is very interesting for me. I love Miriam too. But some of the others would get on my boobs after a while .

Yes. Miriam is great.

Ive just started investigating the thought of retiring to Spain in the future which im worried I might find enough of a culture shock. Can't imagine moving to India especially if elderly and infirm. Good tv show idea but maybe not very realistic for real life.

One reason I didn't move to the wilds of the Cornish Coast was that I was worried I may be too far from hospital and family when I got older and more frail. Moving to India would be a whole different thing entirely. I expect that very good medical treatment would be available at a cost though.

I'm sure the medical care as in hospitals and Drs are good.

But what if you need something before that?? I guess you could just pay a local person to do your shopping, etc done.

Ah, they just said that's what they're going to do.

Id have some reservations about how safe it is?

They are all really annoying me! Particularly Miriam, what's with the love?

I think the older reality stars are more difficult to watch than the younger ones after watching this.

She has no filter but I don't see any malice in what she says.

Is very illuminating about how the Hindu caste system inhibits talented, hard working people from making a good living. Is v sad.

Clarissa is so rude! No please or thank you. Bossing people about.

Rosemary even! The chef one.

We're quite enjoying it and finding it interesting.

I'd rather watch these older celebs than the young reality show type celebs.

Really enjoyed it, especially thought Bobby, Sylvester and Patty came over well. Love Miriam filterless but imagine her laziness would get on my wick eventually. Another who keeps mixing Rosemary for Clarissa Grin

Just catching up with this. Really quite heartwarming. Lovely seeing them embrace yoga etc.

I really enjoyed it, it was a lovely programme and made me want to visit India, which i never really wanted to do before.
My dad was a keen darts player and i have a photo of him with Bobby George, so it was interesting to see him. i wonder if he will end up out there.
Rosemary and Jan Leeming just came across as very sad, lonely people.

I thought it was very interesting and nice to see elderly people for a change.

It would be very very unusual for an elderly British person to retire to India unless they had some kind of tie with the country. I think it's a bit of a cop out because these celebrities all have money and can afford to go over for a few months every winter - not at all the same as moving there!

God I must be old - I didn't see them as elderly, just older. I thought Patty and Jan in particular looked great! But poor Jan, I felt so sorry for her - she seemed so lonely and wanting to be looked after. Rosemary seemed much more resilient As did Miriam who was great, though I don't think I could live with her being so lazy for any length of time!

DH is now saying we should retire to IndiaGrin We have been there twice already!

Yes I agree about Jan and Rosemary. I googled Jan afterwards and understood more. She does seem to have been rather unlucky in love. So poignant when she mentioned the funeral of the man she considered the 'love of her life'. I think she might enjoy the complete life change if she went for it. The English woman there was clearly inspiring her.

It was very refreshing to see older people as a focus I agree.

Bruffin my dear dad loved darts too. It was great to see Bobby there amongst some rather big luvvy types. Grin
