So, continuing from other thread... yes Scully was cold but I suppose she's spent the last few years trying to put it all behind her and Sveta must have brought back all kinds of memories. She still seemed to love Mulder, she's just met her 'enough' moment that she mentions in Never Again.

Well they've mentioned William already so I'm sure he will! GA implied that whether they'll make more depends on ratings. It's weird. I love it but it's also so strange seeing them older.

I still don't understand how CSM is alive.

they have already uncovered far more than they cab possibly solve in 6 weeks I hope the ratings prove high enough so we can "finish" it.

funny, she's tried to put it all behind her, but even the hospital she's working in seems so dark. it's as if she's given up in a way

If Mulder can be buried in the ground for months and still survive, I'm not sure it's worth trying to make sense of what happened to CSM

Yes, I'd like to see goofy Scully, like the low-fat ice-cream bit in The Unnatural. You get the impression she hasn't been like that for a while

Probably rehashing what you all know already but:
Ratings are massive, higher than season 1 apparently and miles ahead of season 9

Anne Simon (science advisor/CC's mate/sometimes writer) said on Twitter that S11 is most likely and implied there might be an announcement soon. She's a big shipper too and has talked about lot of lovely stuff about m/s

CSM well, he's already died at least three times so anything's fair game I guess

I loved the opening credits, esp adding Skinner which just could be my favourite thing about the whole of S10. I def preferred the old credits to the season 8/9 ones

I think a lot of people are thrown/pissed that m & s are still very much the IWTB versions of themselves. Ppl tend to forget or intentionally ignore ITWB imo. But I like them like this; brittle Scully is a great description and nuts Mulder makes so much sense to me.

They still love each other. I didn't understand all the woo ha about them splitting up in the lead up to yesterday. Of course they love each other, whether they're physically together or not is besides the point.

And I have way more to say but must remember to pace myself

Yes you're right, it does follow IWTB quite naturally. I think a lot of people stopped watching around season seven WHICH MEANS THEIR OPINION DOESN'T COUNT!

Totally agree. And I think Scully is really uncomfortable about that; she wanted a 'normal' life but she certainly doesn't look like she's enjoying it. She's just so sad.

Sometimes I think she expects too much from Mulder and sometimes I think she is totally justified in calling him out on his self- destructiveness. After al, she had cancer and put her child up for adoption but, well, he was dead for three months. But being around him would piss me off too.

I really liked Joel McHale/Tad. Wasn't expecting to. Part of me thinks Scully should just go for it, he's cute and Diana Fowley. But she never ever would.

They just crammed so much in, it ended up really clunky. I totally understand the mixed reviews. But I would still sell my pfb to watch it

I'm really, really looking forward to Ep 2. Looks a bit horror movie, creepy kids etc which will be cool. I think I've read that William will come up a bit tonight too.

The other cute thing I read was apparently it was CC himself who wrote the 'don't give up' on Scully's car. I hope that's true.

The new improved conspiracy is interesting. I don't quite get how it works in with the original stuff; so were they implying that Roswell was the only real contact with aliens and everything else was a smokescreen? Surely I've got that wrong because that just makes no sense at all.

Ep 3 is the one I'm really looking forward to. More meta than anything that's gone before, apparently, and I love that shit. And I love Kumail, I feel like because he's such a geeky fan I feel like I can live vicariously through him and pretend I'm in an x files Ep too

When you think of the person Scully was at the very start - young and silly with actual friends, it shows just how much she's sacrificed. But she totally chose that path, he gave her plenty of options to leave. She would never really choose Rob & Laura Petrie over Mulder & Scully

There's no point trying to make sense of the conspiracy!! Looking forward to a monster of the week though. Where has 'Don't Give Up' come up before? It's like the opposite of 'Don't look any further' in Orison.

She was so young, so idealistic. And she definitely could've walked away, but right from the pilot she chose to believe in him and to stick with him. I think he was subconsciously taking advantage of her loyalty sometimes though; every time he gave her an out he knew she wouldn't take it, deep down, however much he wanted her to leave to keep her safe. At least until season 7 when he genuinely wanted her out. And I should stop Mulder-bashing. I do love him, really.

Sveta was a bit pointless. So she's just another abductee, until the moment she says it wasn't aliens all along. She is not "the key to it all" Mulder, she's a plot device! And an almost indecipherable one at that.

Don't give up is another version of "Maybe there's hope" from The Truth I guess, and from IWTB. Also to Scully specifically; don't give up on Mulder. All CCs usual obsession with faith and hope and wanting to believe. For a cynic he's a massive optimist

Yes, I think DT did say that at one point. I was also thinking about "never give up on a miracle" or whatever it is he says before she gets pregnant.
