Why does she irritate me so much, I quite like her food but she's so smug and all that vacant or knowing stares are just so unnecessary.

And all her simpering guffawing dinner guests.

Is it just me?

And she's lost so much weight I don't believe she eats any of it.

I've finished now Xmas Grin

Omg I could just eat a plateful of ham and sprouts with an egg on top. Yum. I was only allowed to watch that bit - DH turned over because Chelsea are losing Xmas Grin

No, you aren't allowed to say nice things, you are supposed to be agreeing with me that she's a smugger Grin

I've never really got Nigella and have avoided the series until this episode. DH were taking the piss talking about her inane gurning grin.. What the fuckedy fuck is she smiling at? The bowl?

Also, who are all those people?

That said, the ha, did look nice. When she had chopped 3 kilos of fat and skin off it. Who can afford to have their oven on for 24 or even 12 hrs?!

I've never liked her on telly, but her writing is lovely, or at least was. Feast is a gorgeous read.

I'm not sure about the black treacle though I'm not keen on it at the best of times.

The people are her posh, funny, intelligent, rich, lovely friends who all adore her daaaaahhhhllling and love her food so much.

I reckon

I'm surprised. I thought that she'd toned it down a bit.
I remember one series where she seemed to make constant sexual innuendos as she cooked

I've been a fan for a long time. I am 32 so I didnt watch the first ever series (Nigella Bites) in real time (I think I would have been 15 and not not it at all!!) but when I did I was hooked.

My mum is as well.

Most of the people in the party scene have been her friends from day 1. Her sister is in most of them too. They are not just randoms (unless they have been hangers on for THAT long)

I agree about the smiling at the bowl, she never used to and it looks a bit odd.
He has had a terrible year and I am sure she is smiling through the pain.
Although John Diamond died half way through filming 'bites' she didnt have the same reaction.

Anyway, I am a massive fan and she is one of my favourite women ever.

You don't cook ham like that, you double boil it for an hour and then roast it high for ten minutes covered in honey and mustard. None of that leaving your bloody oven on all week.

Her latest book is disappointing. I got it out from the library as wanted to see what it was like before buying another recipe book - I love her previous books, but this one doesn't know if it's a healthy eating superfood book, Asian or what she does best - lovely rich tasty food. I only found 5 recipes I'd cook from it.

She is bonkers but I think fair play to her - can't have been easy coming out from the nastiness of her last relationship.

I love her and loathe her all at once. I'm conflicted.

Simmering puffy face makes super delicious food.

We have just watched tonight's. We spent much of it opining on how half-witted she looks, smiling at everything.

But she does look amazing now she has lost all that weight.

I love Nigella, but how the hell did she try that salted caramel without burning all the skin from her mouth?!

Report
catwithflowers · 14/12/2015 22:11

Kraggle, I thought the same. She is mildly irritating and lovely at the same time. Still Team Nigella here though I much prefer her writing to her telly.

Now more importantly, does anyone know where those beautiful hanging tea light holders can be found, the teardrop shaped ones. I need them Xmas Envy
