How does it get that bad with one person living in it. I admit I leave dirty pots and other cleaning for a day or 2 sometimes but never would my flat be that dirty Shock

Before I left work I was on £700 a month full time and my friend who is on the dole got much more money than me and was able to go out and spend on herself more than me. I know some people genuinely can't work but my friend could have and just used the 'I get more benefits than your wages so why should I get a job'. I worked long (and illegal) hours and night shifts and still didn't have the luxuries some people on benefits doAngry

When she said that people with less money are more likely to be obese because healthy food is expensive, HA I lived on McDonald's and takeaways (because I was too tired to cook) for weeks when I worked there and I lost weight Grin

Why do people watch this bollocks?

because Doc Martin has ended Grin

Fair enough those who genuinely can't work for many reasons, I'm glad they get help from the government. My mum physically couldn't work as she was a single mother raising me with no one else to take over and couldn't afford childcare, I'm so grateful for the benefit system for helping us. But the people that use it as an excuse not to work and don't even try do give those on the dole a bad name

The thing I am most shocked about is that some landlord is exploiting the system by letting that bedsit out to the local authority for £110 pm. Even if you removed his mess, it was inappropriate and needs updating, repairing and decorating. I imagine someone even without issues, would get to the point they couldn't be bothered to do anything. It's a terrible situation to find yourself in.

even fucking better on benefits and 26 kids and still counting on next OMFG

Report
Owllady · 09/11/2015 21:58

Well they're not just exploiting the system, they are exploiting people. It was the same on that Jaywick program, renting out those prefab places for £650 pm.

agree the bedsit was rundown and needed a refit but im sorry that filth has built up over time, everything was caked in grease/dirt,no need for that

its only one room to keep habitable, that was more than a bit of dirt and i do hold steve responsible
