I don't under stand why does Lucious Lyon not like his first born son, Andre?

Last season there was a scene where Luscious admitted why. (Complete with flashbacks)

Summarising: Andre married a white girl and Luscious views going to business school as selling out to white people.

Ah, thank you enderwoman. I thought andre thought it was because he was not musical and I did wonder if it was going to be that Andre was not Lusious's biological son!

Hi, I'm watching too. That scene was a flashback to Lusious's childhood, that was his mom and she had mental health issues. Think Lusious is worried about Andre's children because of his bi polar.

I think Lucious's favourite list runs: himself (of course), Hakim, Andre, Jamal.

Dione and no. 400 is the little girl he had with that woman he married to Jamal. Jamal and Hakeem singing the jungle song to her was the sweetest scene in the whole series

I haven't watched the new season yet, buty take on it;

Jamal - isn't liked by Lucious as he is guy (obviously) but I think he grudgingly acknowledges is talent.

Andre - he isn't musical so can't relate to him. He also doesn't 'believe' mental health illnesses existing as he thought Andrés Dr was making up the diagnosis in a flashback.

Hakeem - should be his favourite but as he was brought up with money, hes rather lazy and doesn't have any drive of ambition.

I'm intrigued about his past - must be pretty messed up.

I did spot Chris Rock the other week and now I know it is Kelly Rowland as the mum. Naomi Campbell. Who else has there been?

Lucious doesn't like andre because he has mental health issues and because cookie loved him so much as a baby.

Is there anyway you can catch up on season one?

There was flashbacks about both of them! She always protected jamal but there was a flashback of her cuddling andre and lucious not liking it.

I'm hoping the ghetto girl gets on cookies team, she would beat that girl group any day.

Started watching Empire and I am totally hooked.

Timbaland was on this ep also performing with Jamal. I was a bit shocked at how grey he's gotten! I used to quite fancy him back in the day!

And Ludacris was the prison guard last week. He's done a fair bit of acting in his time which is why he was fairly good.

God help me, but I thought Lucious was looking quite hot this week, all clean shaven.

I do think they may have written themselves into a corner with his takeover of all the urban radio stations. I know its a real issue in the States and people complain they can't get airplay if they're with a certain label. So how is Cookie gonna combat it?

Also, how on earth is Cookie bankrolling Dynasty? How are they affording all that staff and all that stuff at the party? Its a start up!

I thought Lucious was looking old and tired in this episode for once. He usually looks quite good/ok

Andre seems to get bigger with each episode. How is that happening with his mental health issues? We not seen him exercising!
