Tattoo fixers?

Sorry if this was done before but I don't get it; you have a tiny tattoo on your ankle you want covered so they do a huge one on top that wraps round your thigh and ends on your foot. Ok maybe not that extreme but the do seem to cover up with something at least ten times the size and you can sometimes seem the old tattoo through it. Surely it would be better to design the new tattoo with lines that 'utilised' the lines of the old tattoo rather than just put something huge on top?

I think that too. But I guess the new fashion is for big statement tattoos at the moment...

I saw an episode where two lads had small lettering tattoos on their arses, the cover-up took over half a bum cheek! The seahorse tattoo on a girls leg was the worst a few weeks ago.
They're amazing artists and I do like tattoos but they do go overboard.

In one episode they ask the client what size did they want their tattoo & they said big. So maybe they all say that & due to editing its not shown.

They are good artist (though not my kettle of fish) and I presume more discussion takes place off camera so perhaps people go to them for the big tattoos. But as far as fixing old tattoos, I don't think they are that good - the old tattoos can often be seen if you look carefully. I saw a similar American program once and they were a lot more careful about designing the new tattoos to work with the old ones so the cover up was much more effective.
