Weeeeeeuhhhhwooooo! New Dr Who starts 19 September!
(677 Posts)Hooray! Let's hope that this series is better than the last.
Oh look it's Arya Stark! And more Missy!
And PC's hair is madder than ever!
(And I've found the box of exclamation marks!!!!!)
Let's see
Great, can't wait
Think I feel a DW namechange coming on....
Ha! I don't need to name change. I've had this MN name since 2003! Ner. How do I get a Tardis?
If only we had some wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff to make it start sooner
Seriously? Absolutely everything is happening around my due date of the 18th!
I like to think that the bbc are finally honouring my birthday on the 17th. Thank you auntie, now can pc deliver my presents please? be my present I mean
Square brackets tardis close square brackets.
Checking in, I can't wait!
Have to think of a name change in honour of the occasion.
NC test.
I've got lazy and forgot how to do the emoticons
Ah yes I'm right [ tardis ] without the spaces.
I'm in two minds.
Ever since the first new Doctor told Rose to run I've loved the sense of anticipation before each series. I still adore the stories; the scampering about, the occasional intellectual challenge, the fantasy.
But don't you have to love the Doctor himself? And the companion. I persevered through the last few. My teenage watching companion has "gone off" the thing - apparently. I just don't know ...
But I guess this will be the place to come for trailers/spoilers/gossip. So ...
I am WAY too excited about this! I am even more excited about this series than the last one! Even though my first Doctor was Jon Pertwee, I honestly think that PC is the best one yet and I hope he plays the role for a very long time! I love all the hints of the other Doctors in his performance. And he is also so so so sexy
Vagelina, if PC delivers your presents, can you make sure you send him back in one piece ready for my birthday in October?
It all looks very dramatic and apparently Mark Gatiss has written a terrifying Halloween episode.
The only thing I'm dreading are the inevitable posts about the DC not liking it/being scared by it, but I think it is more of an adult show anyway.
And can't wait to see PC play the guitar in an episode!
That shot of him in the trailer windmilling and wearing the sunglasses looks fab!
Is the Halloween one the episode that Reece Shearsmith has said he's in?
I think it is.
And YY to the sunglasses!
It looks like he will be more "cool" than "dark" this time.
When the trailer was first released, some of the fans were actually crying apparently! I wasn't, but I do struggle to control myself that my favourite actor is playing my favourite role - it gets too much sometimes
Signing in.

I love PC and am going through yet another The Thick of It marathon atm. But I still feel the loss of RTD. I more or less stopped watching when MS was the Doctor (though I have now watched all his episodes) and only started watching again because I loved PC. I feel PC has saved the show somewhat. The portrayal of women in the MS era was pretty awful.

I may have shed a tear when the news about PC came out...
The MS era was the weakest of all of them, I think. I even preferred Colin Baker, although I know he isn't a popular choice.
I think that PC's love of the show comes through (Matt Smith had said that he had never really seen it before he got the role).
I just wish they would get rid of Clara and get, perhaps, a male companion instead, to save the speculation on the potential romantic element.
Ship I squealed when they announced him - I was totally overexcited by then about the fact that the announcement was being made and I actually couldn't believe how perfect the choice was!
And I am also using it as an excuse to watch The Thick Of It yet again - Malcolm is perfection!
Gruach It helps to love the character of each particular Doctor. It would take something extreme to stop me watching the show as I have been a fan all my life, but there is definitely more anticipation and enjoyment for me now that PC has taken over from MS.
I think everyone in TTOI is perfect Livia!
I sort of agree about Clara but I think they've done a lot better on the romance front this time. The Doctor is more involved in his Doctoring and she has her cyber-bf to think about... It's a lot better IMO. Though they do seem to throw in hints of love between the two which I find annoying. I think the chemistry between the two is so much better than between Clara and MS. I found that nearly unwatchable, though I though the Dalek Asylum was really good.
Agree about TTOI - Even the non-regular characters are fantastic I may adore Jamie a little bit
Clara is a little less bossy with 12 than she was with 11, so that's a bonus. I just hope they lay off on the face slapping this series!
And I think I heard a rumour that Rebecca Front was in DW this series? That would be amazing! I just wish the Chris Addison character had had a scene with the Doctor last series!
I'm with Gruach - I loved DT and MS but really felt I was persevering through the last series. I really like PC in other roles but not as the Doctor. It's not just his character though - the writing of the whole series seemed very 'off' to me. Will try the new series, but I don't think dh will. It's put him right off.
