Was rooting through the boxes in the spare room and found old videos, some of Hill Street Blues, plus adverts ....so emotive as they were recorded with a very different set of people in my life, and a long term but long gone relationship, made me cry.
Must have been early eighties I suppose, luckily have old video player to watch them on, but blimey they reduced me to tears, thinking about the times and the people I watched them with, let alone whatever happened to Renko, Joyce and Taurean Blacque (great name groovy guy).

Any other old series that would reduce you to tearful mess as a blast from the past, not so much for the programme but who and where you were when you watched it?

More 4 played them all again in sequence a few years ago. Such a great series - wish they'd do it again.

Great series, I loved Mick Belier and Pizza man. An amazing cast. Betty Thomas was great too.

Oh no, Esterhaus died in 1983. I think I must have known that as he was replaced but don't remember it being so early. We probably got them a few years later then?

Yes, I got together with DH in late 84 and remember watching them with him, and I remember Sgt Esrerhaus dying so we were probably a year or so behind the US.

Other old series from that period would be 30-something.

Yes, we often talk about 30 something, it was huge, like Friends, and yet no one remembers it.

Was living in the US when ER and Chicago Hope were launched at the same time. Then ER took over and was huge. Thursday nights were billed as "must see TV" and everyone was glued to watching Dr Doug Ross do his thing.....sigh. Before that, the big medical drama was St Elsewhere, which was also good.
