With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

AgathaChristie01 Sat 27-Jun-15 18:49:42

I love the titles you put on threads Anne. They always make me smile.
+1 to that, re plot lines and histories.

MrsUltracrepidarian Sat 27-Jun-15 18:50:42

At least with itvplayer can skim past the Alya etc stuff and just focus on Tim & Sally.

AnneEyhtMeyer Sat 27-Jun-15 18:51:11

Thanks Agatha blush

DocHollywood Sat 27-Jun-15 20:22:26

Yes, another one here who loves the titles!
I keep hoping they are going to get Tracey for the fire but no one seems to be bothered about that any more.

RedandYellow24 Sat 27-Jun-15 20:23:44

Is it just me but where are the plot lines at the moment?

Faye storyline ended
Tony affair ended
Fire kills off two people
We have got is Cathy hopeless or living shed/broke thread.
When will Brian bigger off and stop being annoying that's it!

DocHollywood Sat 27-Jun-15 20:25:08

Perhaps they think that we are all on the edge of our seats wondering if Alya will fess up to Gary hmm

KenDoddsDadsDog Sat 27-Jun-15 20:28:44

Marking place with all the passion of a Nick / Carla snog .

ProfYaffle Sat 27-Jun-15 20:29:32

I'm another one who's been watching for decades. My Mum watched the first episode when she was a teenager and I grew up watching it with her. It's only nostalgia that keeps me tuning in atm.

mrsdavidbowie Sat 27-Jun-15 20:33:55

Liz got over Tony quickly.
And her new bloke...remember him in The Bill. His teeth annoy me irrationally

southeastdweller Sat 27-Jun-15 21:51:06

Thanks for the new thread.

I also love the witty titles grin

Another 34-year watcher here - I can remember Ken and Deirdre's wedding. As dire as Corrie sometimes is these days, I can't ever imagine not watching.

firefly78 Sat 27-Jun-15 21:56:01

its not great atm is it. what happened with miley? also how have they explained deidres absence??

ProfYaffle Sun 28-Jun-15 09:35:10

Mily went to live with her Dad and his parents. Deidre's absence hasn't been explained yet. On Friday she wrote some of the pub quiz questions. I think someone on the other thread said her death on the show is imminent, maybe next week?

I also noticed Ken mention Deirdre as if she was now back home.

southeastdweller Sun 28-Jun-15 10:17:16

I can imagine this thread will be just as active as the last one as there's Deirdre's death (week after next - also there's six episodes that week), then we have the acting titans that are Sarah Harding and Shayne Ward coming into the show.

WireCat Sun 28-Jun-15 10:22:42

It's really crapness right now. And pathetic in the way Miley was dispatched.

WireCat Sun 28-Jun-15 10:23:09

Crapness? I only typed crap!

Jo4040 Sun 28-Jun-15 10:24:44

Noooooo not Sarah Harding. What a bleeeeding joke. Where will she fit in?! God almighty. I actually like corri bca you haven't got aload of slappers wondering down the cobbles ATM. Ayla was brought in when Tina went as the new 'beauty' I read somewhere but she just so boring. Also another burning issue on my mind is this. Wouldn't Tracy be on CCTV in the flats the night they got burnt down? Drrrrr

AgathaChristie01 Sun 28-Jun-15 10:24:48

Crapness is an even better description, Wire grin

firefly78 Sun 28-Jun-15 10:30:18

what happened with miley? surely anna wouldn't have given her up that easily???

Pyjamaramadrama Sun 28-Jun-15 10:43:05

Just joining new thread, got a few to catch up on atm.

NoMontagues Sun 28-Jun-15 10:49:40

firefly yes, Anna, whose burning longing for a child brought her to adopt Faye and then continue with the adoption even as a single parent, has just taken all of 5 seconds to decide to hand Miley over to the other grandparents.

It just isn't in keeping with her character. Well, her character's character iykwim. I would have seen Anna moving heaven and earth to keep that baby under her roof.

AgathaChristie01 Sun 28-Jun-15 10:54:16

Exactly, re Anna.
Nonsense end to what could have been an okay storyline. Still, as per thread title, Emily probably is relieved wink.

Corrie specialises at the moment in dragging out rubbish storylines, such as the endless Platt/ Callum saga, and Michael and his flipping heart...
And abruptly ending what could have been good storylines, involving good actors, such as Simon Gregson.

NoMontagues Sun 28-Jun-15 10:54:36

And (while I'm at it) why, oh, why did they have to make a 49 year old woman pregnant only for her to then lose the baby?

Mary is the only good thing in it at the moment imo. Was that a SATC reference she gave at the Rover's pub quiz? I also like Tim, and Amy.
