Anyone watching?

I have a huge crush on Eva Green and she is terrific as Vanessa. She also has great chemistry with Josh Hartnett who is surprisingly good in this.

Anyway I loved the first episode- Frankenstein's creature is boring as ever but the witches storyline looks very promising. Great tense ending to the episode. In her shoes I would have run to Ethan's room... Grin

Ok I give up I am clearly the only person in Britain watching this... Grin

Anyway the puppet scene was the creepiest thing I've seen in a veeeeery long time so there.

You are not alone! Hubby and I are watching it: only seen first episode so far but that bit with Madame Kali chanting/Vanessa praying for protection/deliverance/whatever was chilling. Very intense.

And Dr F is a bit of a sick puppy isnt he!

You are definitely not alone anon. I had the first series on DVD and thoroughly enjoyed it (although I watched through my fingers sometimes and never alone).

I don't have Sky so will have to wait a while to see it Sad

Wait til you see the end of the second episode. It's worse than the first.

I'm finding the storyline more exciting this time round. Helen McCrory makes for a much better baddie than boring Dracula/Creature who ended up being killed in two seconds.

Love this show. Victorians! Occult! Eva Green! Cross genre multiple literary allusions! Haven't started watching the second series yet, but definitely will be.

Look forward to seeing episode 2 then! I just love how stylish it is: so sumptuous to look at Smile

DP and I love it too - him more than me I think! But I love Caliban/John Clare - Rory Kinnear is my favourite actor. I enjoyed his meeting with Vanessa last ep and wonder what will come of that.

I agree that was a really sweet moment. It was nice to see their interaction.

Caliban is a real teenager isn't he? Low self-esteem, really moody with his dad, convinced no-one could ever fancy him, but given the chance a sensitive lovely guy.
Who just happens to rip people to bit. Grin

You arenot alone but I've only just finished season 1. I wasn't sure about it at first but it really grew on me. I think the acting is terrific and I am embarrased to say Ihave a crush on Reeve Carney and I'm far, far to old to have such thoughts about someone that young!

I think Rory Kinnear is excellent in this.

The Frankenstein/Lily/John Clare relationships are not going to run smoothly though....

And yes, anonacfr the end of episode 2 - definitely icky!!

I thought Tuesday's episode was the best yet. Up until now it's just been Eva Green being all mysterious etc.

Loving this new series. The lynch mob mentality is so frightening. Scary what people will do in a group. I'm also thinking the Dr Frankenstein situation is not going to end well!

It's over and I miss it already. I want Ethan and Vanessa to get together! (she is marvelous isn't she?) did anyone think that the blood on the dance floor scene was like Vanessa's dream? I wonder if that will be the subject of the next series...

I'm just relieved that Billie Piper seems to have forgotten her appalling Irish accent as a result of dying and being brought back to life.

I wish she's just stop talking! I can't bear her weird plummy accent.

The bloody trail around the dancefloor as they twirled in the candlelight was beautiful.

I love this series, total Victorian fictional mash up of smut, squalor and ultra violence. Brilliant. Apparently a third series has been given the go ahead.

I found the whole 'wolf of god' bit a bit of a let down, as he didn't actually do anything during the last episode, apart from kill that nice man with the scars. I expected his part to be bigger. Unless of course he comes into his own in series 3....
