RIP Mrs Wolowitz.

I loved all her yelling.

Wandaaa Thu 16-Apr-15 22:05:26

Me too sad

Bernadette looked genuinely devastated

WannabeLaraCroft Thu 16-Apr-15 23:26:50

Aww I wondered when they were going to write that in.

Will I need tissues?

squoosh Thu 16-Apr-15 23:29:22

I didn't find it very moving. Howie's acting skills are too limited to display any real emotion.

Penny's hair made me want to cry though.

squoosh Thu 16-Apr-15 23:41:06

It doesn't seem that funny any more either.

CaptainSubtext Fri 17-Apr-15 00:06:53

I found it very sad watching the end bit where they were all on the sofa raising their glasses. Must've been so sad for the actors filming that scene sad

ladygracie Fri 17-Apr-15 16:34:41

Oh I really liked it & it did make me cry. I kept thinking how genuinely sad they must all have been too.

BL00CowWonders Fri 17-Apr-15 16:37:53

I thought they did it very well.
A sad scene pitched just right.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Fri 17-Apr-15 18:59:08

Yeah for me it was the bit when Leonard said "a great mother.... to all of us" (or something like that).

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Fri 17-Apr-15 18:59:39

squoosh but this episode wasn't supposed to be funny?

squoosh Fri 17-Apr-15 19:10:55

I know this was supposed to be the poignant episode but it was also supposed to be funny, all the gags about Amy's experiment on Penny etc.

But I wasn't referring specifically to this episode I just feel the last couple of series' have been a bit flat.

MissDemelzaCarne Fri 17-Apr-15 20:57:13

I haven't watched it yet!!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Fri 17-Apr-15 21:02:21

I was in the kitchen and I heard ds shout ' holy crap mum, quick!' I ran into the front room and he looked at me all welled up and said ' she died'sad

We both watched it together and I pretended I didn't hear him sniffwink

hideandseekpig Fri 17-Apr-15 21:17:05

Made me tear up too. Very moving I thought

SheHasAWildHeart Fri 17-Apr-15 22:15:07

It was handled really well. They didn't go OTT with sentimental stuff. The quiet lead up with Howard getting really possessive over his mothers furniture, his insecurities about losing her to the comic shop guy. And then she was gone....

squoosh Fri 17-Apr-15 22:17:17

Maybe my heart has turned to stone. I expected to find it moving but just didn't. As I say this may be coloured by opinion that the show has gone off the boil somewhat.

Grantaire Fri 17-Apr-15 22:21:53

It has lost some of its sparkle. You're right.

The next episode turns the death of Mrs W into farce too but there's a nice bit with Penny and Sheldon which is really worth watching.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Sat 18-Apr-15 00:59:17

Spoiler alert, well sort of.

I heard that later on in this series there is a bit about Leonard getting his knickers all in a twist because Penny starts doing really really well at her job. I'm looking forward to seeing that.

Behooven Sat 18-Apr-15 01:09:57

Me, dh and DS all went kind of quiet during the sad bit. And really it was hay fever that made my eyes water.
Rip 'mrs wolowitz'

Grantaire Sat 18-Apr-15 08:24:00

Hearts, there is a bit with him getting his knickers in a twist. He finds out that Penny makes double what he does and has a financial adviser who has helped her invest. It's a good episode if only because Will Wheaton is in it. smile It's a few episodes ahead of the current one airing here.

Grantaire Sat 18-Apr-15 08:25:19

Kevin Smith's in it too btw. He has the funniest line of the episode.

Rivercam Sat 18-Apr-15 08:29:45

I thought it was a really poignant episode, and a lovely tribute to Mrs W.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Sun 19-Apr-15 15:05:15

I will have to google Kevin Smith!

HeartsTrumpDiamonds Sun 19-Apr-15 15:06:37

OMG Silent Bob. Of course.
