Sunset Beach addiction - help!

Does anyone else remember Sunset Beach? I've just found all the episodes on youtube and think I'll now need to extend my mat leave. And just who did kill Del Douglas??

I used to love Sunset Beach - so bad it was good! Evil twins, complicated baby stealing, turkey basters, voodoo, wives returning from the"dead". It was such a pastiche of Dallas/Dynasty/Knot's Landing rejigged storylines. It was my guilty pleasure back in the late 90's when my children were little.

oh I loved this. There used to be an omnibus on Saturday afternoons. I loved it when Dh, then bf, was working on a Saturday so I could nurse a hangover, eat stodge and watch all the week's episodes.

How did it end? Wasn't there some kind of explosion on a cruise ship and then it never came back? Might be imagining that.

Yep - some amazing person has uploaded the entire series on youtube. Wave goodbye to your day. I've watched three today already (I live in Australia now so it's my night time...I"m not THAT bad). The turkey baster! Genius. It's much more risqué than I remember. Highly recommend a re-watch :)

Oh my days! I never come to the telly section but felt the urge to today. Clearly it was to find this thread. Sunset Beach was the best! Loved the Derek/Ben stories, hysterical! Hated Meg though. Loved Annie, awesome soap bitch.

Oh I loved this! I fractured my foot and had 8 weeks off work and became totally addicted to it. Have you found the episode in the church where they were all possessed? It's totally bonkers, I might have to re watch it :)

Oh I adored Sunset Beach. I used to record it and watch it when I got in from work and nothing got done until I'd watched that days episode.

My favourite story lines were Caitlin and the baby swop
Gabbie and Antonio and the wedding with Maria turning up, and of course anything involving Annie Douglas!

I loved it. I had a flat in central Edinburgh and used to go to marks and Spencer for wine and treats before the omnibus came on. Loved it.

Oooh, hyperventilating with excitement here. Used to be my Saturday guilty pleasure. Such joy: Olivia channelling Alexis Colby and insanely bonkers plots and the little blonde girl with one expression whatever the drama. But seriously cute outfits. (well, for the 80's). This is the best news I've heard in ages.

My favourite part was when the actress playing Meg (I think) went off to film something else for a bit and instead of just writing her out they temporarily replaced her. But instead of doing like normal soaps do and sending the character away for a bit and then when she comes back everyone calls her by name for a while so the audience picks up on who the new woman is, they just had a voice over come on during her scene and say "the part of Meg will now be played by So-and-So".

Did anyone else ring the helpline when it finished on TV over here? Supposedly set up to help people cope with its loss. I was 14 when it finished and I thought I was a real helpline so was shocked when my Mum said we should call. But obviously it was a fake, it was set up as though you were in a queue and you could hear others leaving their messages about how upset they were that the show has finished - they were all done by an impersonator so sounded like famous people - I remember Tony Blair being one of them.
