Started watching it on Amazon Prime last night, I'm hooked already.

Haven't read the books it's based off, which makes a nice change for me!

Anyone else?

I've read the books, going to use my free month trial of Amazon Prime to watch it over half term!

I downloaded the first few last year when they were on in America. Only the first part of the season was on and it's been six months but they start again this week. I blush like a school girl whenever tall, ginger and handsome comes on!

If there is I'm on it.

I watched the whole first half of the series free online (if anyone wants a link PM me)

Fabulous nonsense, I loved it.

As the mother of two handsome redheaded Scottish sons I am always pleased when the hero is red haired, does a lot to balance out the " ginger " negativity, although it does make me feel a bit weird admiring them.

Ok, finished all the episodes! So;

HOW much attempted rape must this woman be subjected to?! ShockT

That witchy redhead woman is fishy. Do not trust her at all.

I want to take Jamie home and keep him and his hard muscular torso.

Is it wrong that I fancy Captain Randall more than Frank? It is isn't it Blush

So glad I found this thread! I just finished the tv series the other day and read the first book. I don't think I'll bother with any of the other books in the series but I'll keep watching the show. New episodes start in a few weeks I think with one being released each week on Amazon Prime.

Ostentatious i know! Every other bloke seems to attack her! And I think it's the dirt and the ponytail that gives Black Jack the edge over Frank. Wink

I would like to point out that although I would choose Jamie over Frank. I think Frank gives up a bit easy. I mean it's only been 6 weeks and he assumes she must have run off with the random I saw watch her one night ?!

Also was in the highland of Scotland this weekend and saw no Jamie Frasers anywhere. Most disappointing

The rapes are a bit OTT, I don't mean the 18 century wasn't full of it, but it feels like plot device fatigue.

I've been reading the books for 20 years as well! I've enjoyed the series, but it's not how I imagined jamie at all Grin

I've seen the first 4. I am sort of enjoying it. The drama I like. The internal monologue I find a little grating. I've nodded off twice too which is usually a bad sign but I'm also not well so I'm going to assume it's that and stick with it. I'm watching an episode a night.

Scotland is the real star of the show isn't it? We went to Scotland on honeymoon and our 10 year plan is to move there. Beautiful.

I love the books and am going to get the thirty day free trial purely for this!

Again not how I saw Jamie but lovely all the same! And yes there's a lot of rape in all the books.

Looking forward to watching especially the scenery!

I watched and was pleasantly surprised, as I'm a long time fan of the books. I wasn't expecting to like the casting, and thought they might have altered the storylines as tv adaptations do, but it's been done well so far.

Like the use of Gaelic throughout.

The books feature a lot of rape and violence against women. I'm no historian so not sure how accurate that is. Claire does travel with Jamie in pretty much an all male environment, so maybe that was risky in a time when women stayed at home?

I love how the subtitles say "speaks other language" like the subtitler couldn't take a stab in the dark and assume it is Gaelic.

Saw the wedding episode last night... every time dh wandered into the room there seemed to be nudity going on. Goodness only knows what he thinks I was watching.

Just turned it on to give it a go on Sunday evening after seeing it in my 'new to Amazon' list... have since binge-watched all episodes and am ready to read the books! I did wonder how the story was going to pull off the whole 'two husbands' thing that was mentioned in the description without it rankling a bit (I never really enjoy love stories where one party happens to already be married to someone else... spoils the romance for me), but have been pleasantly surprised. Her marriage to Jamie doesn't feel like an illicit relationshipmore of a needs-must scenarioand I completely understand her position. Plus, that is one good-looking highlander.

Does feel a bit Game of Thrones with the full-on sex and boobs and gore... not that any of that is stopping me from looking forward to the next few episodes!

I found the flogging of Jamie awfully graphic. It almost made me relieved for the sex scenes. At least nobody was flayed. I found the interrogation scene with Randall and Claire v well done. Randall is superbly dark.

New episodes are starting this Sunday for everyone who has watched the 8 already on there.
Now I have read the first book I am curious to see how they will handle the second half of the first book.
Grantaire I had the same thing. DH walked in on me watching The wedding episode and didn't look convinced when I said I was watching a costume drama !

Game of Thrones is just too misogynist for me. Ye cod medievale porne.

The violence in Outlander I find ok thus far. Less graphic than Spiral anyway.
