Who the fuck eats like that in real life.

Angry

Where's Mary Berry when you need her?

I'd lost interest by then, why can't they just concentrate on the gardening?

Oh I know. The last series was so shite I said i wasn't going to watch it ever again but I did and whateverhernameis exaggerated tasting was my punishment.

The rest of it was shite too Btw... They made flower baskets and mustards sauces.

All I think about in my allotment is how to combat the weeks, confuse the slugs and whether what I have actually grown is edible or not.

Her book is excellent and her neat bob would make even Anna Winton jealous. But she's harsh as fuck, isn't she?

I don't mind her personally but the way she eats? It makes me want to fly in to the TV and stab her to death with her fork.

dh was mesmerised by her staring into infinity when tasting.

yes to harsh comments.

The eating was odd, wasn't it. I take it that she did not get to see the dailies (ie uncut footage each day) as she'd never do that more than once.

I too thought the last series was pap. Then watched all of this one. I want to focus on the growing, not the judging and the arranging. And I don't give a toss whether the veg are the same shape as each other, I just want them to be healthy and plentiful and delicious.

It was a joke re the air stew by the way. I have no idea, no info. But he seemed to know his plants, seemed a nice chap and is very pretty.

Why cant we just have a fucking programme about growing fucking fruit and veg??? I dont fucking get it. Just show people how to so it and what options they have and what the problems are with some fucking solutions!

Jeez. That woman needs to learn some fucking manners. And eat properly!

Oh yes. I adopted her weird tasting technique when trying DS' s food temperature last year. Argh it's annoying.

gardeners world is good for the actual growing bit, but they have their winter break.

Are they repeating this again or was there a Christmas special? I love gardening and gardening shows, but couldn't get into this one. Too much focus on exhibition growing and flower arranging, there was nothing for someone who just likes and wants to know more about standard gardening.

Beechgrove Garden is a good gardening show and I love GW and Monty Don.

This allotment rubbish is absolutely terrible though.

I have recorded but not watched yet. Last series I watched the first bits where they are talking about growing stuff and how to overcome some of the problems they are encountering, but I'm not interested in growing things to show standard so don't really care about perfectly straight beans etc

It's a new seried Crazy. I willbecwatching as DD (8) loves it, she has been asking for ages if there will be a new series. I agree, Thane very harsh, I also dislike flower arranging judge, Queen's gardener is a bit better. Fern not very inspiring either.

I noticed that this year, after she (Thain?) puts the food in her mouth, the camera cuts away to the conestants reaction. Last year it l i n g e r e d (painfully) util she swallowed.

Also, this year the 'allotmenteers' are solo - pairs last year.

I did not see the programme. Please could you describe how she ate? Did she make a schloop noise or chew open mouthed with enforced enthusiasm?

Report
Pipbin · 03/01/2015 08:53

I watched some of the last series but thought it was so bad that stopped.
So I've not watched this one. But I might do now just to see this woman.

No it isn't - it's good for flowers and perennials but fruit and veg gets sidelined to about 5 mins. A proper seasonal food growing programme is very much in need in the UK.

beechgrove is very good.

Wrt how she ears she kind picks up her food with a poncily held fork, puts it in her mouth and then pulls it off the fork with her teeth with her lips open while all the time gazing in to the middle distance.

It is very unusual. You probably need to see with you own eyes.
