Did anyone watch? She looked a bit odd but she behaved very strangely - as if she had no clue what was going on.
But the best bit was when Take That were on and she visibly squirmed each time Robbie was mentioned. Remember he announce during a live show that they'd slept together? Grin

Maybe all that botox has frozen her brain? She came across as having the personality of a parsnip.

I thought it was very strange. I couldn't work out whether she was really really shy, had no personality at all, or one of those people that just freezes up on chat shows?

I have some sympathy with them as I know that if I was on GN, I would clam up and anything remotely interesting that I had to say would exit my brain via my ears...

But she just came across as a bit vacant. I was quite surprised.

I think she's had many years of practice giving interview on shows to know how to act/what to say. It's her surgery I can't get over. She looks like a doll. Not a line on her. So unnatural.

I bet Graham had a list as long as his arm about what he couldn't ask!

Yes, vacancies and completely lacking in any sort of personality

What happened to the fiery girl of Bangkok Hilton? It does say on Wiki that she is very very shy.

*vacant.

She did come across as shy but also had no humour and was quite sneering of GN at times. I thought it was quite telling, the fact that Julie Walters and Hugh Bonneville have previously been great guests, but seemed much quieter when on with NK

And the Robbie Williams stuff was just so awkward. She kept looking as if she was shrivelling up, waiting for it to be mentioned.

Well, I don't know what you were all watching but I thought she was fine Confused

She was sweet and funny and joined in and laughed in all the right places, where was she sneery to GM ? Hugh was quiet as he wasn't pissed as a fart like he has been on previous shows Grin

she did appear to have difficulty moving her mouth, and that stick-on hairdo was awful. She has amazing facial features if she'd only let them wrinkle a bit.

I didn't know what the indiscreet Mr Williams had said, no wonder there was all that sniggering!

When they were doing the Mrs Overall skit she didn't laugh and go along with it, she was sort of "what are we doing?" but not in a being in on the joke sort of way - just as if it was a bit beneath her

His can she expect to get good roles now with a face that can't move. I'm surprised at her.

Spanish - I doubt she realised what was happening, she was probably confused unless she was really into Acorn Antiques.

...which as she is an Australian is unlikely!!

SpanishFly · 02/12/2014 20:08

No she looked sneery before Mrs Overall cake on. And in any case they know 100% what they'll be talking about and doing on the show, so it's no excuse! !

I think she was just a bit perplexed as to the format of the show. I though she did her best with the skit.

She's a bit of a cold fish.

Preferred Julie for a laugh.

The older I get, the more amazed I am at how little insight into others most people have. Plus, how people love to jump to nasty conclusions of others (saying more about themselves usually).

Nicole Kidman came across as odd because she was anxious. I thought this was bldy obvious. Like many people, she’s socially anxious particularly in such interview situations. (The more PC word is shy.)

She was on the defence due to her anxiety. She needed to keep up her image of a slick and in control A list actress and was therefore trying to hide her errors caused by her anxiety, thus repeatedly blaming Graham Norton for the way he was saying things - content, context, etc. - rather than taking responsibility because to take responsibility would be to swallow her pride and admit she was in fact shi
ing herself.

And that’s all. And that’s life.

She’s not a witch. Just a flawed human being.

And who’s business is it anyway about who she sleeps with. The vampish part of human nature that loves to see victims (the more successful the better) squirm in public when their private lives are revealed – inevitably done for monetary profit for someone – whether Murdoch through the Sun or the BBC and it’s ratings.

Yes – shovel the sensational. Appeal to the lowest common denominator in human nature. All in order to be popular, to sell, to get money. It’s disgusting.

She has said before that she is shy and sometimes gets quite scared in the spotlight. Apparently Tom Cruise used to whisper calming and encouraging things in her ear when in public. It all looked romantic, but it was to help her cope. I haven't seen the interview, but I've seen her in another, recently, and she was fine. Laughed quite a bit, was down to earth, albeit reserved.

I saw this last night after having read this thread. Also totally bemused at calling her snooty etc. I thought she was perfectly normal and friendly. Agree it's awful that slebs are not allowed to be shy and awkward when appearing as 'themselves'.

Hasn't her father recently died? Maybe that's why she was quiet

I saw it when it aired and thought she seemed lovely, not at all as frosty as her reputation would have.

And unless you knew of Acorn antiques, that sketch would be odd! Person sat next to you wanders off, comes back with a tea tray and a tabard, staggers a bit and everyone else guffaws.

greysup er, chill.

Nobody called her a witch. She IS an A lister so actually has signed up to a life where people are entitled to comment on their PERCEPTION of how she came across on a lighthearted chat show.

I seriously think you need to re-read the thread and note that you are totally overreacting Hmm
