This has always been my guilty pleasure.
Why are they ending it? Why Why WHY?
They can't! Angry
Why end a series that is still successful? (I know loads of people that watch it)
I wish they would reconsider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway...........
How are you finding the series so far?
Who are your favorite characters?

I like Rhiannon. She's had some really good storylines.
I also see Gabby being in a lot of things in the future. She makes me think of a young Hayley Mills (only with attitude)
The red haired teacher gets on my tits. She's got such a smirky face. She and PE teacher are welcome to each other.
Simon can do better.
Head teacher's son is a bit of a looker (nothing like his dad) - bad casting?
Doesn't his mother look like she's in 28 weeks later, woman stood at window (but it isn't her)
Audrey is great (like a Brit version of Carol TWD)
And Christine as an alkie was very convincing.
Also the secretary cracks me up each time she opens her mouth.

(they can't get rid of it)

There's nothing else good on (Doctors is shite now)

Noooo! They can't get rid of it. Althoug maybe it's because they've run out of storylines!

So they should get some new writers - with NEW storylines!
Don't get rid of the series fgs.

I bet they won't be replacing it with anything good.

I watch the old series sometimes on youtue.

I like Ali the art teacher and her children, and I like Audrey Mcfall (history). I like Lenny and Lisa and Kevin.

Hate the red haired science teacher.

Nobody likes the science teacher! Shock She's too full of herself. Also hated how she bullied the girl that returned to school.
She either has a really annoying face or she's playing a good part.

Science teacher spent her first series being utterly incompetent, but seems to have transformed overnight. How did that happen?

No! She is still incompetent. She joined in with the bullying of gabby.

WR is my favourite guilty pleasure, and my teenage son loves it too.
It's like Grange Hill for the over 12s; worthy, predictable and likes to cover serious ishoos.

I was wondering the same thing. Hmm
She doesn't even have Barry Barry to help her anymore!

red headed one looks like a skeleton, her facial features.
awful awful man she is having a fling with as well, the man who went after the lesbian last time.

very few scots in the programme.
and so silly last week with the headteacher's son going to the poor boy's house and giving him his tie so he can come to His school

Justin, the head teacher's son, looks like the drummer from McFly.

It's not something I can take seriously but I watch it in the same way I watch Doctors/holby/casualty

Anyone watch last nights? Hating the head , must be due a change though, they usually only last a glee weeks

I quite like the head in a mature eye candy sort of way. But I do wonder how they expect viewers to believe that a responsible father would make his son move schools not just once but twice in the run up to his A Levels.

Even putting aside the social and emotional cost of moving schools in Y13, it's unlikely that every school would offer the same courses (exam board, specification etc) and be teaching the content in the same order.

Unless there planning to hire some new writers good. Dont get me wrong ive been a fan since season 1 but especially since it moved to scotland its just repeated stories and cliches. For example I think there must have been at least 4 episodes where someone brought drugs in and each episode just felt like a just say no morality tale. Plus a lot of the characters are recycled:

-The Bad boy- spens entire season antagonising people only to have changed his way by the second season and become everyones favourite guy.
-The Ambitious new headteacher- comes in with bright new ideas only to be hit by reality within the first day.
-The Super Couple- the most popular boy and girl. Relationship is a major storyline by next season there dead/in prison etc.

WR in its early seasons was gritty and realistic its current form is clichey and recycled. Bring in a ambitious writer or get rid. Sick of watching season after season after season out of some misguided form of loyalty.

I have to say I agree. Although I do still really enjoy it.

I never understand how they get fairly credible TV actors to get involved - Neil Pearson, for one. Every series seems to have a decent actor involved

Ichimoi the Head rather is Neil Pearson who has been in a lot of TV dramas. I used to have the hots for him in a series called " Between the Lines". That was 20 years ago and he was very cute then.

Yeah moving it to Greenock was a disaster. All due to the BBC cutbacks and diversifying.

Yes, what did happen to that PRU? It was bizarre how they found a way to shoehorn the most unlikely pupils into it. Did it work such wonders that they didn't need it any more?

Yes the move was the turning point. And the strange funding of it.

as opposed to the silent other staff who always leave the staffroom before any dialogue starts.

Like the Sikh teacher who appears every week but never says anything. Give him a couple of lines!

English is still there, they did Shakespeare this week.
