I definitely think the judges must have been told what happened, and decided to send him home anyway.

I am guessing Diana/Nancy took his of the freezer to get theirs out, and forgot to put it back in. Diana should just have said sorry instead of that 'don't you have your own freezer' comment. I'm sure there was more said all round than what we saw, but that really was an unfortunate comment to make.

Oh dear Suffolk. I wouldn't pay it much attention, all this furore will soon calm down and we can get back to giving people nicknames and swapping recipes on this thread!

There's been some interesting names from some of our members for bald Prince Harry & the Hollywood this evening grin

Norm has survived to fight another day too...

Poor Martha missed out on star baker too - I'd have chosen her myself (but I can't even make saucy puddings yet so what do I know wink)

LemonMousse Wed 27-Aug-14 22:18:57

Ah, there you all are. I left my icecream on the other thread - I hope none of you have lifted it over to here?

<glares round suspiciously>

Dolly80 Wed 27-Aug-14 22:22:28

Whatever you do LemonMousse if you find it don't chuck it away!

See you all same time, same place next week (I don't usually partake in Extra Slice but I'm very drawn to doing so this week)

LemonMousse Wed 27-Aug-14 22:27:27

I won't! grin

When's this 'Extra Slice' on?

I think Jo won't even mention it on AES because it's become so controversial. Great BBC Cover Up.

LadyBaelish Wed 27-Aug-14 22:52:03

Am laughing out loud at some of the updates on the Wikipedia page tonight. 'Ice-cream melting super villain'!

A funny round up of twitter reaction here:

rootypig Thu 28-Aug-14 02:47:02

Twas defo Diana who took it out of the freezer, Nancy told her it was Iain's and then walked off before Diana did anything am a sad arse who has been back and checked on iplayer - also when Iain discovered it, Diana wiffled some accusation about him using freezer space on the wrong side of the tent. So I don't think it was unintentional at all.

I think she'll go in the next few episodes anyway, she hasn't been great at all.

rootypig Thu 28-Aug-14 02:47:23

Oh - forgot what I came to ask - what did Mary say was unacceptable? was so deep to find out and somehow missed it!

rootypig Thu 28-Aug-14 02:51:21

*desp to find out!

rootypig Thu 28-Aug-14 05:06:29

I found it. So much less dramatic than those pesky GBBO editors would have had me believe!

braveandcrazy Thu 28-Aug-14 07:34:12

My baked alaska's melting in the tent
All the black sesame ice cream, flowing down
Diana left my cake out in the sun
I don't think that I can take it
'Cos it took so long to bake it
And now my time on Bake Off is done, on no.....

FrontForward Thu 28-Aug-14 07:40:34

I do wonder if Diana has been a victim of dramatic editing. The media backlash against her is enormous. I think she is guilty of something, but not perhaps the calculated sabotage they have set it up as

TSSDNCOP Thu 28-Aug-14 07:51:58

I don't think Ian's ice cream would have set without the incident.

Obviously the leaving it on the counter didn't help that process.

Given Ian was on the other side of the tent, why did he use Diana and Nancy's freezer anyway.

The fact that Chetna served up a molten heap cooked Ian's goose, if he'd just served up his sponge and meringue I reckon he'd have been saved as he'd done ok in the previous two rounds.

I fear Norman will be next. sad

I have never watched the Extra Slice programme but it is set to record now!
