It's been a while since we had a WW thread so here we go again!

Be warned, if you've not watched the whole series, you may come across spoilers.

So, favourite episodes/quotes/characters?

For me, favourite episodes: Two Cathedrals and The Supremes, plus numerous others!

Quotes: too many to mention! Bartlett's monologue in Two Cathedrals; Josh and CJ going head to head on many occasions; Toby's "Did you trip?" Grin

Characters: all of them! Except Mandy Wink

Grin

When Leo tells the President Zoe is missing & he drops his drink & looks over at Abby :(

When CJ's body guard gets killed

& when Josh gets shot & Donna's car gets hit by the car bomb are all stand out moments

Oh & season one when Sam hugs Leo & Leo says 'boy did you get that wrong '
I loved Sam in it , I liked his & Josh's relationship
Wasn't that keen on Will & Kate Harper

I have a baby due in 2 weeks and I plan to start rewatching my box set during feeds. DH is slightly grumpy about this because he'd love to rewatch too. He'll cope.

I basically love Sam, Toby and CJ unreservedly. Josh is mostly marvellous. Loved Ainsley and wished they'd done more with her character. Can't stand Mandy (was so glad when she just disappeared) and never warmed to Will. He wasn't the right kind of idealist to replace Sam so it never worked for me.

Favourite episodes: Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc, and Celestial Navigation have special places in my heart.

Good choices!

Of course we can't have a WW appreciation thread without mentioning CJ's "The Jackal" Grin

Definitely going to have to start watching again. I watched the first series in sleep-deprived baby fog, so it'll be like watching for the very first time Grin

Hello!!

I am glad I am not the only one who couldn't stand Mandy - she was so irritating! Apart from her, all the characters are fab! My favourite episodes are Two Cathedrals (I cried when he did the Latin rant) and Posse Comitatus (when Simon is shot, and also the brilliant use of that music while they are assassinating Shariff - so clever.

In fact I think the cleverest thing that they do is their use of music in it.

Toby's "Did you trip?"

YY - Brilliant!

And one of the best quotes ever

In a triumph of the middling, a nod to mediocrity, and with gorge rising, it gives me great nausea to announce Robert Russell - Bingo Bob, himself - as your new Vice President.

My favourite ever exchange (among many) is CJ and Josh when he's been posting on a Josh Liman appreciation website, telling him she's having the site monitored and he must not go on it:

CJ: If they discover you've been there, I'm going to shove a motherboard so far up your ass–
Josh: Well, technically, I outrank you–
CJ: SO far up your ass!!

I want to be CJ when I grow up. Grin

Will & Kate Harper were Bland City.

Didn't like the Two Cathedrals stuff very much. Portentous and overblown.

Wished Donna and Josh hadn't got together.

Loved CJ and Danny and the goldfish.

Loved 'The Jackal', but that's stating the crashingly obvious.

Toby's timing was pitch perfect. He always made me laugh. Also loved when he took his STBX wife to see the house, thinking that if he bought it she'd come back. He was so crushed. Sad

Also Toby and CJ on the beach.
CJ: You've never walked on the beach before, have you?
Toby: I like a hotel. I like a good concierge.

Man after my own heart.

My favourite Josh/CJ exchange:

Josh: You know what, CJ, I think I'm the best judge of what I mean, you paranoid Berkely shiksa feminista! Well that was way too far.
CJ: No, no. Well, I've got a staff meeting to go to and so do you, you elitest Harvard fascist missed-the-Dean's-list-two-semesters-in-a-row yankee jackass!

I like Sam asking Mallory 'which one is Leo's daughter?' when her class visits the White House, then his monologue including the bit about accidentally sleeping with a prostitute

Has to be the best 'I'm having a bad day' speech ever

Evening all Smile

Love when Donna's in the Oval and the President has her tell Molly Marello where she is.

Love Leo "hi Dalai Lama" and his relationship with Annabeth.

Favourite episodes are the Supremes and the day CJ gets promoted with her suicide bomber swatting purse.

Josh's face when he hears Amy has been made the First Lady's Chief of Staff. Doesn't get better than that.

I'll be back later when I've finished working.....

The WW has got me through some tough times. I still miss Mrs Landingham. In Excelsis Deo definitely one of my favourites

I love CJ and Danny's conversation in Internal Displacement:

Danny Concannon: We're both about to fall off a cliff. And I don't know what I'm gonna do with the rest of my life, except I know what I don't wanna do. And on Inauguration Day, you're going to be released from that glorious prison on Pennsylvania Avenue, with...
C.J. Cregg: No human skills?
Danny Concannon: Seems to me...
C.J. Cregg: I should punch you in the face.
Danny Concannon: That's what I'm talking about.
C.J. Cregg: Keep going...
Danny Concannon: So, if I'm gonna jump off the cliff, and you're gonna get pushed off the cliff, why don't we hold hands on the way down?

Grouchy I managed to rewatch three series while feeding DD3 (she needed to feed probably slightly less than I needed to watch but hey). Love Isaac and Isaiah. Think it should be mandatory for all teenagers to watch.
And Josh is mine. Dibs.

I only need to hear the title music to get all emotional. WW = babies. I watched early WW (on video!) when sleepless and pregnant and BFing ds1 and bought WW7 when it was new out to watch in labour with Ds2 (a misguided idea because telly watching in labour didn't really happen either time and Ds2's labour was so marvellously speedy).

I hated Mandy. My only gripe with the pilot is that Sam would surely have met Leo's daughter during the campaign, so that bit didn't ring true. But I will forgive the WW anything.

Are the first two seasons the best, or is that just because I watched them till the tapes wore out and I had to buy DVD replacements? The 'In The Shadow Of Two Gunmen' episodes are so well constructed.

I have a friend who rewatches them every four years with the final episode on the night they announce the new US president in RL.

(OP, I'm watching TTOI final series again and also love your user name).
