trixymalixy Thu 05-Jun-14 17:19:42

Raahh Thu 05-Jun-14 17:25:40

rafa grin

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Thu 05-Jun-14 17:35:58

I've decided to come back.

Did you have enough tennis balls there Raahh?

tennis tennis

JuanPotatoTwo Thu 05-Jun-14 17:38:48

Ooh sorry Clay, obviously meant the crushed brick type of clay, not the witty, erudite, clever type of clay (that's you, in case you didn't recognise yourself smile)

JuanPotatoTwo Thu 05-Jun-14 17:40:39

Hope the forecast is good for tomorrow. I will need the afternoon's tennis as a reward for the morning's dentist visit.

Raahh Thu 05-Jun-14 17:47:02

I tried to even the tennis up, but i lost count. And gave up.

MacenroeTheBoatAshore Thu 05-Jun-14 18:15:04

tennis tennis tennis.

Blast. wish Shrieka had lost. angry between her and Serena theres not enough room for their big heads.

Like Halep and Pet so don't mind there as long as they beat maria in the final.

Raahh Thu 05-Jun-14 18:35:40

I think Simona stands a really good chance of beating Shrieky. Shrieky has had a couple of houdini matches- Halep has been much more consistent.

And I prefer her outfitgrin

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Thu 05-Jun-14 19:15:54

smile Juan. Thank you. You know you're my favourite don't you and that Potato is all your and not that muddledmagi's don't you wink

I remember trying to do that with the balls last year. Once you've pressed post they are never even. I have a great deal of respect for whichever poster always makes pictures out of smilies. I can't even manage two lines of tennis balls.

Now Bouchard is out I don't care who wins the women's as long as it's not Shrieky.

trixymalixy Thu 05-Jun-14 19:30:26

Waaah, just put the telly on to watch the tennis that I thought I'd sky +ed and it's not there!!!

JuanPotatoTwo Thu 05-Jun-14 20:05:50

I'm going to print that post out Clay and keep it for eversmile

Never mind trixy, you missed Shrieky making lots of noise, doing that annoying clenched fist thing when she walks around, and lots of fawning from the commentators. Just don't miss tomorrow's tennis though smile

Matts Wilander apparently thinks Gulbis can win the whole tournament. Not sure about that myself. If he plays out of his skin tomorrow and has lots of crowd support (which Djok won't like) he might pull through. Can't see it really though. And I definitely don't see him winning against Rafa (who will win v Andy I'm sure). What do you folks think?

trixymalixy Thu 05-Jun-14 20:27:35

I caught the highlights. Bouchard looks like one to watch for the future!

trixymalixy Thu 05-Jun-14 20:29:42

I'd love Gulbis to win, but agree he's not going to beat Djok. As much as I'd love him to, I don't think Murray will beat Nadal tomorrow either.

JuanPotatoTwo Thu 05-Jun-14 20:56:38

So odds on then for a Rafa/Nole final - which is pretty much what we expected all along I think?

Just read that Ernie's coach thinks that he (Ernie) has no chance v Djok, and that he thinks Djok will win the title. With friends like that ... smile

Raahh Thu 05-Jun-14 21:44:22

Obviously, I've been pro- Rafa from the start, and it is right that it should be Djokovic against him in the final. if anyone deserves to take Rafa's title, it is Djok. But I expect a fight.

But I want Gulbis to give him a run for his money- it's about time the 'youngsters' proved themselves, and now he has decided he wants to win, he might give it a good go. But Gulbis has always been unpredictable, so we will see who turns up on the day.

I don't think Murray will win against Rafa. His matches against Kohlshreiber and Verdasco showed he is better on clay than he has ever been- but god knows what he was doing against Monfils. They were both playing games- and it wasn't exactly tennis. The scoreline was just ridiculous.

Of course, the commentary team are still trying to make something of Rafa's comment on his back. I think it is wishful thinking.

And Nadal looks so nice in his matching blue trainersgrin

But I've a feeling I am going to miss it allsad

fingers crossed for a bit of a rain delay so I can watch Rafa from about 5pm?

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Thu 05-Jun-14 21:44:57

Yeah it's not good when your coach says that.

Matts Wilander might be being a bit optimistic about Gulbis' chances there. I won't be going to put money on it.

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Thu 05-Jun-14 21:46:50

It does need to finish though, because I may or may not be working on Saturday and I wouldn't want to miss the end.

DramaAlpaca Thu 05-Jun-14 23:13:59

Thanks for the new thread. I had to avoid it earlier because I was out all afternoon and had to wait until I'd caught up watching the recorded matches.

I'm back at work tomorrow, so the Sky+ box will be earning its keep again.

I'm expecting a Rafa/Djok final, but we'll see what happens tomorrow.

threebats Fri 06-Jun-14 07:27:27

tennis I am gutted to be missing what is going on - at 3pm today I will be in a spa giving a treatment sad Its heartbreaking - not going to be home till 5pm. I didn't get home till 6 last night and missed everything - I was up to ears in hot stones and Indian Head treatments..... Roll on Wimbles when I am free to watch - I love you guys and all your banter and am missing it all and the tennis

Raahh Fri 06-Jun-14 11:02:56

I have to go out- am hoping Gulbis pushes Djok to a 4 hour thriller and I will be back in time for Nadal. Last year's semi was extremely stressful, I'd rather it was over in 3 bagelled setsgrin

Raahh Fri 06-Jun-14 13:15:09

Right, this match seems to have started earlier than I thought it would. And isn't going to plan- gulbis needs to fight back, or at this rate, both matches will be over before I get home!!

RafaIsTheKingOfClay Fri 06-Jun-14 13:36:25

Looks like Gulbis's coach might have been right.

Allez Gulbis
