sky 198 says its reality tv and its locked so stick to 319 if you don't get the movies package, that's available.

LetZygonsbeZygons Fri 04-Apr-14 20:39:02

don't you have sky or virgin?

dawntigga Fri 04-Apr-14 20:41:14

No, I might have access to the interweb and certain file sharing sites, which of course I don't cos they is all illegal and stuff.

LetZygonsbeZygons Fri 04-Apr-14 20:42:27

do you have someone that can record them for you and put on dvd? if I can get my dvd fixed im happy to do that for you and send them.

id hate to be without my WHO fix knowing it was on somewhere.

dawntigga Fri 04-Apr-14 20:45:42

I'll be fine, thank you though, the offer was really lovely and made a fairly awful day much nicer.

southeastastra Fri 04-Apr-14 20:48:04

oh blimey ds has nearly all espisodes on dvd replacing his video collection, i am hoping he will grow out of it.

i love horror channel don't want it filled with blinkin dr who all easter!

RustyBear Fri 04-Apr-14 21:27:24

Need to get our freesat cable fixed before then!

Though it would mean jumping out of sequence in our own Whoathon - we are now up to The Web Planet - Susan has gone off to wedded bliss with David, Vicki has joined them, the Doctor has accidentally inspired Nero to burn Rome and they are about to be ensnared by giant ants with very knobbly knees....

LetZygonsbeZygons Sat 05-Apr-14 17:29:20

dvd player/recorder completely broken and cant afford a new one.

what can I get for my kidneys? id sell my body but no one would want it!!!!

MakeMineAMartina Fri 18-Apr-14 19:52:36

Gosh. Susans annoying! overacting just a bit.

still love the very 1st episode though.

All these scifi programmes. everyone on other planets/times speak English!

RustyBear Sat 19-Apr-14 06:36:00

They're not speaking English, the TARDIS's telepathic field is translating. Though it takes until 1976 for anyone to query it (Sarah Jane in the Masque of Mandragora, when she asks the Doctor how she can understand the people in 15th century Italy - and it warns the Doctor that she's been hypnotised.)

MakeMineAMartina Sat 19-Apr-14 17:14:44

ah, but the viewers not in the Tardis! these cavepeople doing the 'me, Ugg' thing!

unless we the viewer gets caught in the telepathic field too! grin.

Mind robbers-ending was a bit sudden and lame wasn't it?

DH is watching this (now) but I just made him put the Christmas 2008 episode ( David Tennant, Dervla Kirwan and David Morrissey in Victorian London)

It has just strengthened by 100% belief that David M should have been the next Doctor, he would've been brilliant.
DH says not feasible because he's not a Time Lord, but the writers could have got round that tbuwink

MakeMineAMartina Sat 19-Apr-14 18:45:09

spoilt for choice as Dr whos been on 'watch' AND the horror channel.

but weve been watching the old ones on horror.
much better!

MakeMineAMartina Sat 19-Apr-14 18:48:34

Having said that, the one were watching now, Terror of the autons is washing over my head a bit!

much as I love this cast, and the fab car Bessie! and the master, but its gone on too long, this story!

MakeMineAMartina Sun 20-Apr-14 18:28:35

Now THATS what I call a Dalek!! older ones, more scary. less CGI, more 'stunty' IYKWIM. and better voices.on the sylvester episodes now.

Nick Briggs is good doing the voices but its not like the old ones. more authentic. ;ovin the white dalek!

Sophie Aldred (Ace) does the voice of Tree fu Tom and I cant get that image out of my head!

why was Colin Baker so derided at the time? thought he was brilliant.

MakeMineAMartina Sun 20-Apr-14 19:05:41

where have all the Who fans gone?

assume you're all engrossed in watching it!

RustyBear Sun 20-Apr-14 21:09:00

I haven't been watching because (1) we still haven't got our freesat cable fixed (2) DH and I are doing a complete rewatching starting from An Unearthly Child and so far we've only got to The Crusade and (3) we've been at a Gerry Anderson convention this weekend.

I think Colin Baker was unlucky both in the quality of most of the stories during his tenure and in the way he was required to play the Doctor, as an abrasive contrast to Peter Davison's portrayal.

MakeMineAMartina Mon 21-Apr-14 12:14:08

they showed the 1sr 2 episodes of the 1st dalek story today. Hartnell fluffing half his lines et al.

awesome though a childs 1st ever glimpse of a dalek!

SchrodingersFerret Mon 21-Apr-14 21:44:28

Who fan here, long-standing member of the Who threads on MN, but have been <whisper it> away from MN for ages. Come back to discover the heartbleed crap, and that my email had been hacked (no idea if it's al related).

Aaanyway... haven't watched any of it... but my Who dvd/video/audio collection is pretty bulky to begin with.

I hated Colin Baker because he killed 'my' Doctor, and was so horribly different. Viewed with grown up eyes, I can see what they were trying to do, and he did soften up towards the end to the point that I'm kind of sad to see him go nowadays.

MakeMineAMartina Tue 22-Apr-14 19:06:16

The dalek one is the one the film with Peter Cushing did isn't it? same story.

MakeMineAMartina Thu 24-Apr-14 17:31:20

aww. loved the dalek/Thal story. was brilliant. loved Barbara and the Thals flirty thing going on. bless!
