Can anyone recommend programmes to watch with 12 year old dd?
(28 Posts)Dd1 loves a bit of bonding time with me but everything we liked to watch together is finished!
We've watched:
The Apprentice
Great British Bake off
Call the Midwife
Big Ballet
Outnumbered
I know The Apprentice and GBBO will be back but can anyone recommend anything good in the meantime?
'Hair' is quite good. Also the Sewing Bee. Well dd and I like them
I bond with my dd2. (14) over poirot and other old rubbish on itv3!
Catchphrase starts on Sunday.
My 10 year old loves the old sitcoms, and ronni e barker stuff
I watch the Sewing Bee and the Hairy Bikers with mine but she is a bit of an oddball
I was going to say The Big Reunion but actually she won't remember any of the bands.
Sewing Bee
The Voice
The Musketeers (would have to catch up some episodes though)
Gogglebox
I agree about Sewing Bee ,also Modern Family and Frasier . My dd is 14 and we sometimes watch Judge Judy for a laugh and also Crimes that Shook Britain and Snapped Women who Kill . We've done all the Poirots and I'm just starting to get her into Morse .
I think the Hairy Bikers are good value
We love Come dine with me, Four in a bed, Don't tell the bride [ sometimes a wee swear], Snog marry avoid. Lot of trash but all pretty innocent.
Watched Jonathon Creek the first week and had to avert her eyes at the DTD scenes
Me and 12 year old DD watch, GBBO, Hair, Sewing Bee, The Voice, The Middle, Friends and shes obssessed with Eastenders
We watch Big Bang Theory, Simpsons, Pointless, Countdown.
We also still watch a few things together on CBBC - Dumping Ground & 4 O'clock club at the moment.
We're also looking forward to the return of the GBBO.
What is Hair??
It's on BBC3 tues but is on iplayer too for repeats. It's a bit like bake off/sewing bee in format in that talented non professionals have to design hairstyles and showcase their abilities. It's very good!
Meant to say that they are judged by proffesionals (who set the task each time) and one is knocked out every week.
I like to watch Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, The Simpsons & Friends with dd1 who is 10.
Oh yes, forgot about Friends! Dh and I used to be big fans so would be happy to watch them again with dd.
Dance moms
Dame you can't do that to the poor OP
My 12(now just 13y) likes top gear and QI (lots of which is doggy, but she has a big sister).
She also likes property programs, grand designs and especially DIY SOS (spends her life building houses on SIMS).
She also likes come dine with me which is utter trash.
The most civilised things she watches are Dr Who and Sherlock.
She also likes the Simpsons
She might like Friends, I've never seen it, all that relationships stuff zzzzzzZ.
DD1 has a friend who likes it, DD1 also falls asleep when it's her turn to choose the video. She much prefers Buffy that another mate brings to youth group.
I believe masterchef starts again next week.
We love dance moms when ds thinks in being an old grouch I say to him 'at least I'm not like Abby Lee
'
We love Dance Moms!! It's fab. Also Abby's ultimate dance thingy. We watch hair, America's next top model, The Face... DD is 12 and we love trash
Dd (10) and I love bonding over utter trash too. Dance Moms and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo are our absolute faves and I make no apologies for that whatsoever!
I would like to watch Modern Family/ Big Bang Theory but there can be sex references in there which I'm not quite comfortable with us sharing just yet. At 12 I might feel differently
Goggle box has loads of swearing in it!
We love Grey's Anatomy too
