Last night's episode was just a bit irritating. The way Sue kept phoning/texting/getting involved - and the scenes with Karen and the head teacher were ridiculous. The HT was horrifically patronising. I know it's a comedy and always a bit exaggerated, but I usually enjoy it and recognise aspects of our lives - this was just a bit grrr...

Yes, want to give that fringe a good cut. She doesn't do much for me now that she's older. Ben is better older than younger (so annoying) and Jake has always been a bit meh. I do admire his curly quiff though.

Ben is definitely the best, hopefully he will have a successful acting career ahead of him. I've seen him interviewed a couple of times too and he comes across well, very down to earth.

Yes, it's gone off the boil alright, sadly. The last episode was ridiculous; all centred round Pete bumbling around like something from an irritating French farce.

We were very excited ad the cafe Ben was in was our local one!

We love it in this house, it's all the subtle humour that is so funny just as it is with teens in the house in real life.

Dh and I have many days with hurried conversations at work trying to organise things

We've always enjoyed it. Having children the same age has helped. We used to watch it whilst the kids were in bed, now we watch it together. The kids laugh at the parents, we laugh at the kids. We all laugh at how familar the arguments are....I think its very well observed.

I like it more this time around. I have a 14 year old and a 12 year old. The texting/phone thing while irritating is actually what it's like.

I agree. I really like the earlier series, this one is not that funny. I do like Ben, though.

It's not illegal to leave an 11 year old, but loads of people (eg on MN threads) assume it is, so unless it was a cop saying it, it's not an unrealistic thing to say.

This episode was unbearable- too true to life chez help; wer're constantly bickering about Oyster cards, phones, house keys and schedules. The one before with the Aussie au-pair/ guest was very good though.

Teens aren't that funny though, not like when they were toddlers and they made you cackle every 5 mins, teens make you till your eyes and the are frustrating.
