Oh I just came looking for a thread on this !! Dh and I watched 5 episodes over Friday night and last night. It's absolutely amazing. I love it. The script is excellent the location stunning and the lead men.....wow.
I have literally developed a full blown crush on MM since watching. His performance is incredible. I'm so so impressed. Only 3 episodes to go before its over!

It was the first episode on sky atlantic last night so I am way behind you.
Happy to wait for it to unfold. Love Matthews performance too. He just looks haunted. It's really good.

I loved it.

I wonder why they fell out and haven't spoken for 10 years?

I think I've got a bit confused though Blush . What's the connection with the missing child? Did I miss something?

Can't wait for the next episode.

The physical changes they make between present day and the time of the murder are so well done.

The missing child link was a search they did for previous similar events as Rusty thinks the nature of the crime indicates a pattern of behaviour and compulsion. So they would expect more or traces of previous/linked crimes.
He described it as a hunch - to persue the missing child case.

I've only watched the first episode but I loved it too. Very chilling and atmospheric. Matthew McConnaughey was amazing, I don't normally rate him.

Loved it. Loved the storyline and the two lead characters. I love Woody anyway but MM has been a slow burner with me, the last couple of things I've seen him in though I really rate him.

Loving Lestor Freeman as the church pastor.......who clearly knows more than he's letting on in episode 1.

I started a thread last week to remind you all to watch it. It was fantastic. I watched it in the afternoon. Loved the slowness of it. I'm not interested in what happens I just want to watch it each week. I love abig HBO production.

Oh did you Lighthouse?
Yes, I had been waiting for it. I know what you mean - I am finding the plot secondary. It's marvellous.

Is it repeated please? I missed it.

I have been missing Homeland and breaking Bad, so need something quality to fill the gap. Started watching Line of Duty on Catch up today, so "True Detective" should leave me satisfied.

They usually repeat stuff on sky Atlantic.
I'll look out for it for you.

Does anybody else have a problem telling MMc and WH apart? Admittedly I have a bit of a facial recognition problem, but they look pretty much identical to me in the trailers (I forgot to record it, I might see if there is a repeat I can catch). When I saw Hunger Games in the cinema I thought it was MMc playing Haymitch and was really surprised afterwards to find it was Woody.

I used to have a real problem telling MMc and Owen Wilson apart, but they seem to have become more different as they've aged.

No, I don't have any problems as I've been watching WH since Cheers.

We downloaded this from On Demand last week - would love to see another few eoisodes but don't think they're available yet.
Loved it. Best thing is, we've actually managed to watch from the first episode - we udually catch on to the best stuff much later than everyone else.
Actually, that isn't the best thing; the actors, the script, the photography. Brilliant.

I loved this series and have been waiting for it since the trailer I saw a month ago.

For those that missed it, check out sky Atlantic on demand. It was there when we checked this morning.

I agree that the relationship between the actors is just as gripping as the killer storyline. DH and I talked theories about why the characters don't talk.

Can't wait until next weeks episode.

Thanks Reindeer, just watching on catch up now.

I have a question for you all: if you had to, which one would you Boff? WH or MM? The dirty side of me (there is no other side to me really) would go for Woody, but not totally decided yet.
