I'd have liked to do that. Was a good dancer but never built for ballet even though that was my favourite. The men were tragic.

I've just put it on, I would totally have auditioned if I'd known about it... Well maybe! My mum was told when I was 3 or 3 that I showed promise,.but needed to be on a calorie controlled diet to stop me getting roo big! Shock I was actually a skinny child, but I guess the teacher could already tell (from my mums build?) That I wasn't always going to be petite!

I used to love Wayne Sleep as a child, but he's actually kind of annoying now!

I've never danced. In any shape or form. Always lacked the confidence.
Mainly from being the tall gangly one. I would love to, I think I just need to be shown how so I'm always a little jealous of the people who get these chances (and slabs on scd) good for them for going for it

My only question relating to the program is if they're going to do months of training then it'll not be big ballet will it? It'll be much smaller than they were ballet

I had thought it might be a bit carcrashy but it's actually done reasonably nicely

Fantastic. Loving the ballet from the pro's an the non pro's. The fat dancers so can do ballet though.

Interesting concept! I've never heard of the Irish dancer Monica before but I'm intrigued, must read her biography.

I did lots of ballet when I was younger, and have flitted between different types of dance since then. My daughters studying dance in London, so it's always been something dear to my heart.

My ds was a pro dancer and did some stuff with Wayne, he's very funny in rl.

Well that's it then, we shall have a mumsnet ballet company, I shall hold auditions in my dining room next week!

We shall go to the ball ladies!

He's got less annoying again as the programme has gone on. He seems almost overly camp iyswim, it doesn't seem real. (really hope that's not offensive, its not meant to be!)

Which day shall I come ledkr? I can't do tues, but all other weekdays are ok Grin

He's very over camp but that's kind of his way! Lots if dahhhhling etc.
He referred to me as "mum" when working with ds and then about five yrs later I saw him in a local pub and he remembered me still calling me "mum" I did a karaoke with him Grin
I shall post the audition dates soon Grin you don't need to be big, just a mumsnetter. Eg hair cut, scarf, bag if Pom bears, drink in a penis beaker etc etc

The Dutch National Ballet Company performed 'Groosland' (Fatland) the '80s, with the dancers dressed in naked fat suits. It was diverting. Maybe a piece for this group to aspire to?
