Who's shamefully looking forward to tonights Ep? blush

Rooners Mon 13-Jan-14 19:58:36

Looking forward to it? Wasn't it a pile of daily fail crap last time?

TheRealCarrieBradshaw Mon 13-Jan-14 20:02:46

Rooners, didn't you watch it?!

nikkihollis Mon 13-Jan-14 20:08:03

Shamefully, a little bit. Yes blush.

Rooners Mon 13-Jan-14 20:15:30

No...I dislike tabloidesque benefit bashing programmes. I had a feeling it would be terribly depressing. Being on benefits to an extent I don't particularly wish to see a stereotypical representation of 'people like me', though I am sure some people enjoyed it.

hickorychicken Mon 13-Jan-14 20:26:37

This thread will go down like a lead balloon grin
This weeek not so much as i can imagine theres a lot of underlying or even more obvious racism, but overall i think itl be in an interesting series, thats if its not pulled. smile

Bowlersarm Mon 13-Jan-14 20:29:32

I haven't watched it yet. I think I need to after the furore it kicked up on here last week. I should know what everyone's talking about.

theywillgrowup Mon 13-Jan-14 21:06:05

yep watching now,was expecting it to get pulled to

DownstairsMixUp Mon 13-Jan-14 21:08:04

Would rather have a 3 way with Schofield and Prescott than watch that rubbish.

nikkihollis Mon 13-Jan-14 21:14:50

So far it is dispelling the Romanians coming over here just for the benefits myth. Shame they're making a bloody mess with the bin bags but they just want to be able to work. I have 2 friends from Burundi who were just desperate to work when they came here but because their asylum claims had been totally messed up by the authorities, they couldn't apply for jobs till they were sorted. All they wanted was to get on and get working.

JazzAnnNonMouse Mon 13-Jan-14 21:18:25

I'm glad it actually seems to be dispelling the immigrant benefit myth but the rubbish isn't great!

Feel for the Romanian family. They really want to work.

JazzAnnNonMouse Mon 13-Jan-14 21:20:22

I think there are more serious issues than whether they have nice flowers!

hickorychicken Mon 13-Jan-14 21:21:45

Exactly jazz, like getting that woman a bra!!

I can see the principle behind the Britain in Bloom idea - if people have lovely things around them, they'll respect the area etc - but it's hard to believe that many people are in a position to get involved. I mean the Romanian family have slightly more pressing things to deal with for starters and I can't see Fungi and friends planting geraniums all over the place. And hickory you are spot on, Dee needs a bra far more urgently than a trowel and a pack of seedlings.

hickorychicken Mon 13-Jan-14 21:31:59

This has just taken a real dark turn sad

GeraldineFangedVagine Mon 13-Jan-14 21:34:38

I feel really sad for the poor Romanians.

hickorychicken Mon 13-Jan-14 21:34:40

Those poor guys make £10 a day for 17 hours labour, i bet some of the residents on that street spend that on cigs for the day. I just despair.

GeraldineFangedVagine Mon 13-Jan-14 21:35:18

I feel really sad for the poor Romanians.

StrawberryMojito Mon 13-Jan-14 21:35:37

Really feel for the Romanians.

PicklePicklePickle Mon 13-Jan-14 21:37:13

This is incredibly sad. As parent we would all travel to the end of the earth in an effort to help our children. It must be soul destroying to come all this way with the hope of being able to send money back to your family.

It was very heart warming to see the pakastani man helping the romainians.

GeraldineFangedVagine Mon 13-Jan-14 21:38:32

Dee's are very negative about the gardens

AliceinSlumberland Mon 13-Jan-14 21:40:17

I don't see why the police can't help if the boss has their passport?

PicklePicklePickle Mon 13-Jan-14 21:43:47

God they are in such an awful predicament.

Scarletohello Mon 13-Jan-14 21:44:40

I could cry for those poor men. They are being shamefully exploited.
