Here we are wonderful Wednesday

Of course I'm rooting for Ferrer- Vamos! But would love Del Potato to dowell too,so torn.
Kubot/Janowicz, bit difficult to call really.
Would love Berdych to triumph over Djoko- (then Ferrer can whup him in the semi'sgrin)
Am going for Verdasco- obs, as he's Spanish, and it would be wrong not toogrin - I'm sure Murray is not without support!grin

here's to a limited rain disruption!

Saw earlier: 'Scotland's Andy Murray loses the first two sets, but England's Andy Murray comes back to win the following three sets'!

Raahh Thu 04-Jul-13 12:10:36

That's really nice of him- I was listening to it on the radio- it was a bit awkward, but I'm sure Murray has been asked daft questions before. Garry was probably as caught up in the moment as everyone else, it was such a big match.

CatsAndTheirPizza Thu 04-Jul-13 10:38:54

Posting on this thread because it's still about yesterday.

Murray's a nice guy - he tweeted this about Garry Richardson's stupid interview questions: 'Don't be too hard on garry richardson he had a bad day and he apologised afterwards'.

try again

new thread- I think!

Raahh Thu 04-Jul-13 09:51:47

new thread!

ClayDavis Thu 04-Jul-13 08:52:32

Morning, I'll have some of El Potato's magic pills. Having had the first pain free day since watching Robson on Saturday, I did my shoulder in again when Murray broke in the 5th set.

Only 4 days of Wimbledon left. sad

siezethenight Thu 04-Jul-13 08:25:18

We thought Potato said mushy peas yesterday not magic pills so ds now says, 'Has potato had his mushy peas then?'

siezethenight Thu 04-Jul-13 08:23:41

Good morning all!
I am up and ready to go visit my Nan again - she's got knickers drying over her shower rail and I have to go get them down for her before the council men show up to rip her bathroom out! She rang me last night and said, 'God love, my knickers!?' She can't reach them so I think the community nurse must have popped them up there to dry grin
Well - once AC/DC is done on the radio - I will head off.

I shall be back in good time for raahh's new thread if we are having one and *badkittens' weather forecast.
Am trying to remain upbeat but its Thursday which means only tomorrow to go and then its finals days and then its over sad

Kyle Edmund is through to the quarters in the boys singles which is brilliant. It's reassuring andy doesn't seem to be an an abberation, there is some young talent to follow in his wake in a few years.

TapselteerieO Wed 03-Jul-13 23:34:30

I agree Chub, I hope the magic pills keep working for Del Potro and I hope the naysayers are wrong about Murray, but he has done well to get this far!

I could almost handle Del Potro beating Murray, that is the final I want, but absolutely want Murray to win.

magimedi Wed 03-Jul-13 22:35:55

I'd like to see a Jancowicz Del Potro final!

TapselteerieO Wed 03-Jul-13 22:08:30

I would love to see a few of the oldies playing. This made me smile. I really like Martina, McEnroe and Becker as commentators.

I cannot stand Henman, really pisses me off when he commentates.

noddyholder Wed 03-Jul-13 21:51:09

Cannot warm to Murray at all but if he reaches the final I hope he wins for all the fans. I think the polish guy will beat him Friday though so dont think it will matter. Djokovic pretty much has it

OhYouBadBadKitten Wed 03-Jul-13 21:43:19

Forecast for the rest of Wimbledon, getting rapidly warmer and sunnier. Heat stroke by Sunday grin

DuPainDuVinDuFromage Wed 03-Jul-13 21:26:22

Hi everyone! Just dropping in again as I catch up on Today at Wimbledon after my first two days back at work after maternity leave!

I agree that Boris and John are rather lovely (even if Boris has gone to seed a bit...) but nobody has mentioned John Inverdale! Is it wrong that I have a bit of a thing for him? I kind of think of him as my friend, as I met him once and then he interviewed me on fivelive grin

Salbertina Wed 03-Jul-13 21:16:46

Fab! Felt like i was in an old movie as listening in on the old wireless radio as internet speed not sufficient to stream hmm. I had to imagine Murray's grumpy half-smile of success, but could I hear the roar of that crowd! Gave me goosebumps , i tell you grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies Wed 03-Jul-13 21:06:52

I think Potato could give Djok a run for his money actually, he was really thumping the ball today. All depends on that knee.

Friday afternoon I have to pick DS1 up from school at 4.30, which takes me about 15 minutes and that is all so I should be able to watch most of the matches. tennistennis

Chubfuddler Wed 03-Jul-13 20:56:09

And I would like potato to give murray some of his magic calpol.

Chubfuddler Wed 03-Jul-13 20:52:55

I would love potato to wipe the terminator all over the court. It won't happen though. That said, I don't think anyone would have thought potato or murray could have fought back from the starts they had. Djok is used to winning. I wonder if pushed psychologically, by an underdog, he would crumble.

TapselteerieO Wed 03-Jul-13 20:51:06

So glad Murray won, there were times I couldn't watch!!!

Raahh Wed 03-Jul-13 20:41:09

You're welcome, sieze- Your dd sounds stunning- I hope she has a fabulous night.

I still can't get into 'Luther' mmmm Idris

FarleyD Wed 03-Jul-13 20:38:29

No, Jankovic. Poor Potato has to face down Djok.

Chubfuddler Wed 03-Jul-13 20:35:04

I saw match point. I'm so glad I missed the fourth and fifth sets frankly I don't think I could have stood it.

He fought back brilliantly but god I don't know what was wrong with him in the first two, he just wasn't there.

Who's he playing next? Potato?

CatsAndTheirPizza Wed 03-Jul-13 20:32:27

Not sure Boris would even fit in a cupboard these days sieze - he was looking a bit bloated.

FarleyD Wed 03-Jul-13 20:31:01

It's got to be Joe's seize!

Your dd sounds beautiful, I bet she looked really stunning.
