i am! can anyone explain what a messianic jew is? surely a jewish person that believes in jesus is actually a christian?

It's a mix of Jewish and Christian beliefs. Though even with the help of Wiki I can't really explain it terribly well. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messianic_Judaism

They come across as rather a lovely bunch which I wasn't expecting given that it's reality tv, I was expecting it to be quite snarky.

I like the mums, not sure about the dad, there is something slightly off about him

Is this a series or one off?

He must have something about him to have all those wives willing to live in that setup.

She would thrive in school. What a lovely girl

He seems very controlling but in a quiet sort of way, i think he might be different when the cameras aren't there.

It's creepy . All their happiness and decisions are geared towards keeping him happy. He controls them all. The refusal to let the girl go to school even though she desperately wants to, is wrong.

None of them smile regularly and I haven't heard one of them laugh.

Daddy decided a different mum should look after her? hmmm

It's getting much weirder now with the giving babies to someone else!!!!! Shock

Are the "proper" Jews? If there is such a thing. My Jewish friends don't carry on like this. I bet if I ask them if they are watching this they will all say no.

Poor margot - she had to give up being the main carer to her baby, because the baby didn't take to her dad; what an awful thing to do to her.

This is horrific.

Jews believe the messiah is yet to come.

Christians believe that the messiah has already arrived in the person of Jesus. Jews do not believe Jesus was/is the messiah.

'Messianic Jews' is a term for Jews who believe that the messiah is imminent, and may even be among us in the form of a living Jewish rabbi.

I don't like him one bit. The whole "adoption" situation is seriously sinister. I can't believe what I just watched and what he said about the girls birth mother.

Controlling manipulative delusions of grandeur. Screams psychopathic to me

i think he has the potential to be a very cruel man. earlier in the programme he made a comment about the absent wife being on the front of a magazine, along the lines of yes its her pretty face - the tone of voice really sounded nasty

As the program goes on his power hunger and superiority over his wives and daughters becomes more apparent and abhorrent.
The children are wonderful and the wives likeable. I worry for the children though and Margot was heartbreaking.
