Missed first 5 mins .... what did I miss, something dead important?

BTW - Love Jason Issacs

girliefriend Sun 19-May-13 21:10:11

Was going to post exactly the same thing!! Who does the little girl belong to?

Oh is it that dead woman?!

Journey Sun 19-May-13 21:12:10

Same here!

PenelopePortrait Sun 19-May-13 21:13:01

The girl belongs to an abusive woman in the airport? I saw the mother yelling at the girl and Victoria Wood slapping the mother. Not sure what happened then or to the mother.

girliefriend Sun 19-May-13 21:13:19

Love the little dog grin

Journey Sun 19-May-13 21:15:08

Thank you PenelopePotrait

PenelopePortrait Sun 19-May-13 21:25:24

It's still not making much sense though is it?

Oh hell fire who are these?

PenelopePortrait Sun 19-May-13 21:31:13

Blimey Courtney's spoke

Lighthousekeeping Sun 19-May-13 21:51:53

Do you know what? Last time around none of us ended up liking this. It was only Jason Issaacs that made it worth watching.

I've read all the books and don't have a clue what's going on. In the one that was on before was he going out with the policewoman? I feel like I'm missing something or I've forgotten.

GeorginaWorsley Sun 19-May-13 21:54:37

Read book and not a bad interpretation,if a bit rushed.
Victoria Wood a good Tracy.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 19-May-13 21:57:19

I can't remember this book! Was it a later one? I'm sure I've read them all.

JethroTull Sun 19-May-13 21:58:41

Was the book Started Early, Took My Dog?

girliefriend Sun 19-May-13 21:59:19

Enjoyed that actually!

Although struggled with the scottish accent at times blush

PenelopePortrait Sun 19-May-13 22:01:17

First time I've watched it but wasn't keen, expect for Mr Issacs ( as you said lighthouse smile

VenusStarr Sun 19-May-13 22:02:34

Why didn't Jackson keep the dog? sad

I liked it, not sure I fully understood all of it, but Jason Issacs definitely helps smile

Lighthousekeeping Sun 19-May-13 22:16:46

He does help but that doesn't make up for the fact that it was ten times more confusing than the book. It was the same last time as well.

diddl Sun 19-May-13 22:25:04

So what happened to the girl from Germany?

cocolepew Sun 19-May-13 22:30:35

My sky box froze and we missed the first 10 minutes.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 19-May-13 22:44:42

Does that secretary ever get paid?

I have read the book and think it was quite well done.

But I am wondering about the status of the rest of the series and what this means about any future books from Kate Atkinson. There are not any more Jackson Brodie novels left to do AFAIK. So in the remaining two episodes these must have been written specially for TV? I wonder if that means Kate Atkinson has sole the rights to the TV company and doesn't intend to write any more of the novels?

Solaia Mon 20-May-13 21:25:00

Hi all, I didn't watch series one - do you think I will be ok picking it up now?

If it helps I have read Case Histories, Started Early and When will there be good news, just reading One Good Turn at the moment.

Is it worth watching and will I be able to follow it? confused

Thanks

Lighthousekeeping Mon 20-May-13 21:58:23

I maybe abit slow on the uptake because I've found all of them hard to follow and I've read the books!

Cooroo Mon 20-May-13 22:05:58

Started Early took place in Leeds, which made it great fun to read (as I live there!) - nice change from authors thinking I care about London streets. But they moved it to Edinburgh. Shame. But probably prettier.
