I've never watched this programme before, but my dd is currently watching it.

Why is Dynasty who's year 11 so 15/16, played by a 23 year old actress who looks at least 24?! Why couldn't they get a 16 (18 max) year old actress do none exist?

Why is a scottish school doing 'A' levels?

This programme is annoying me - maybe I should just get on with the housework!

My favourite bit was when my inlaws sat me down all concerned once. They asked me if this was the reality that I faced as a state school teacher and were genuinely worried for my safety!

I did! They were. And I never even flinched when the head turned out to be an ex stripper.

If a school had as much drama as Waterloo Road does in RL it would be closed down!

I love it because it is so gloriously bonkers and detached from reality! The flaws are too numerous to mention - I work in a residential school, and I can assure you both the school and boarding provision would be in special measures should Ofsted come to visit. The very fact that they've relocated to Scotland as a free school when...oh, hang on a minute, do they have those in the Scottish system? You've got random people not connected to the school wandering in and out of the buildings, and the GCSE classes seem to include the delightful Dynasty (23/24 as another poster has noted), yet several other pupils who look about 10. I just love the way teachers are able to "just pop out" of lessons to sort out their personal lives. Oh, and the curriculum can be changed after a quick chat over a cup of coffee, and new staff can be recruited by the school's sponsor after a chance conversation and without any other input.

shipwrecked we used to look forward to Waterloo Road as one of the best comedies on television. Unfortunately since the move to Scotland it has just become so ridiculous we rarely watch.

My 10 year old son forces me to watch this programme. He loves it. Perhaps he is hoping secondary school will be as eventful as that .

I like the programme, it's completely bonkers but that is part of its charm.

I know I am being unreasonable though but I hate the way they have Jody Latham playing Steve-o, I don't have a problem with them having characters as bad-uns but his off-screen record isn't a huge amount better.
