Only if you have nothing to do in the next 5 days. I suggest pre-ordering your takeaway pizza Thinks fondly of student days

Oooh do it! Seasons 1,2 and 3 are the best.

2blessed Sun 12-May-13 19:48:25

Do it! Every now and then i'll have a marathon 24 session.

RightsaidFreud Sun 12-May-13 19:52:05

Do it!! I love 24 marathons, we do one about every 2 years, all the seasons!

Do it! I watched the first season as it aired I was blown away with it. I think I've only seem up to season 3 or 4 but I keep meaning to go back to it.

ooh i started this last week on hour seven of series one. id forgot bits of it smile love it

babydreams Sun 12-May-13 20:01:48

We have just watched all the seasons over the past year ( maternity leave) and are having huge withdrawals can't find anything else we both want to watch. Definitly watch from the begining season 3 is the best. Anyone heard the rumours of season 9.

StiffyByng Sun 12-May-13 20:03:16

Season 2 was my favourite I think, even though it was preposterous.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 12-May-13 20:23:40

I've just watched the first episode. Oh, what an ending! I'm up at 530 for work so I really have to watch one more or else I'll never sleep tonight.

PenelopePortrait Sun 12-May-13 21:06:14

Glad you asked that question OP. we've never seen any of the episodes nev mind a series.

So the consensus is that we should?

Bowlersarm Sun 12-May-13 21:07:39

No. Watch. You have a (time consuming) treat in store.

SlatternismyMiddlename Sun 12-May-13 21:12:01

Ignore annoying wife and even more annoying daughter and just revel in the wonderousness that is Jack Bauer.

MrsHoarder Sun 12-May-13 21:12:02

I meant it about the 5 days. I couldn't sleep until I'd seen a full season: the cliffhangers get tougher to turn off. If you have an early shift tomorrow it was madness to start and you should probably stop now...

LaurieFairyCake Sun 12-May-13 21:12:23

I've only ever watched 1 and 2.

Gave up after that - keep meaning to watch it all. Same with Mad Men, watched the first couple of series and lost interest.

A lot of the stuff I love keeps getting cancelled confused
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - only one series, United States of Tara - bloody amazing, also cancelled. Alcatraz - also only one series.

LaurieFairyCake Sun 12-May-13 21:13:18

I watched all of Prison Break over 2 weeks last year.

I went a bit mental blush - it took over my life.

StiffyByng Sun 12-May-13 21:14:08

The box sets used to come out in August, when I was off work, and I'd spend two solid days just watching them in one go!

PoppyWearer Sun 12-May-13 21:15:28

The earlier seasons were definitely the best, I gave up at about 4 or 5.

PenelopePortrait Sun 12-May-13 21:30:53

Just looking on amazon, £60 for seasons 1-8

jaggythistle Sun 12-May-13 21:31:37

No. Do it! grin

BrienneOfTarth Sun 12-May-13 21:31:40

really? I barely got through season one, thought it was awful, had zero interest in watching the later series.

It's incredibly mysogynistic - almost every episode the plot is driven to a new complexity by one or other of the female characters making a stupid decision - the script writers clearly do not believe that women can be strong, sensible, practical or even basically sane.

Lighthousekeeping Sun 12-May-13 22:19:06

Really? I never got that in the later ones I watched. I wouldn't buy it but I hardly use this Netflix. Right, one more than I'm going to bed.

DevlinMaccabee Sun 12-May-13 23:12:00

Definitely worth a watch, I love it and have just finished watching all eight seasons back to back.

Terri and Kim Bauer are very annoying, but it does get better.

Season five with Charles Logan is one of the best.
