Just been on itv. Did any one watch it? I was truly astounded - have always been a bit right wing but I am so so quickly changing my mind...

I just watched it - It doesn't surprise me - I know loads of families living like that. Wages have not risen in 20 years - having to be topped up by tax credits.

If an office worker was earning £25k in the 90's and they are still earning the same amount now, yet rents have risen, gas and electric gone up, petrol - what the hell do the government think we are all living on?

Companies report huge profits, earn massive bonuses but the workers get nothing.

It was absolutely devastating and really sad. When the camera panned twosome derelict looking flats t thought it was somewhere in Easten Europe, not Britain

It was really sad to watch. I used to live in inner city London so would see people struggling like this. The statistic about the town where there are 12 unemployed people for each vacancy broke my heart. How can people get jobs that aren't there Sad

GinAndSlimlinePlease My right-wing husband's response to that was:

"Move to a different area".

[sigh]
