Series 2 starts again tonight, I quite enjoyed the first lot so will probably tune in.

Anyone else?

I'm trying to remember how it was all left before, hope they do a 'previously' and don't just jump straight in.

Ooh great, thanks for the reminder. I enjoyed it last time. Will it continue the same story, or will it be a new syndicate situation?

Tats good, new story lines instead of trying to remember the old ones.

It clashes with 16 kids and counting Sad will have to record and watch at 10:00

Who's the blonde that knocked the door and shouted that they had won ? I can't place her but know I've seen her in something before !

Loved this! It's a bit gritty BAFTA, a bit "cast of the Full Monty" but it was excellent. What are the chances I will remember to watch next Friday??

Foxriver, the blonde was in The Bill for a while I think.

I quite enjoyed it. It wasn't as good as I hoped.

no, it was a bit annoying. and what would you do if the first member who chose most of the numbers backed out, wouldn't you at least give something.
and the horrible husband of the nurse really upset me.

I really enjoyed it and thought the acting was great, although I'm really not a fan of Alison Steadman. Also loved Denise from last year being in it, I actually love her so much.

The nurse really reminds me of my MIL with a lazy piggish husband (although FIL isn't violent) and an ungrateful, spoilt daughter.

What's the consensus on Helen, the one who left the syndicate?

My view was that if she hadn't assumed she'd get money, was congratulatory and nice to everyone, I'd have given her £100,000 and hoped the rest of the group did the same. Being the mardy, spoilt cow that she was, I think I'd take great pleasure in not giving her anything.

The Helen storyline made me find it hard to like most of the other characters, how they decided before they even had the ticket or she had said anything awful, that she wouldn't be included was awful. If they've each won £14 million I think they should have given her £500,000 each, thats £2.5 in total, if she was clever with it she could give up work on that.

I'm not sure but I remember reading about something in the paper maybe a year ago. A syndicate had won, and a woman (I think the only woman) had left 6 weeks before but had paid into it for years previously and they refused to include her but a few said they would give her some money.

I thought the way she showed up saying "We've won!" and then searching for the ticket was very presumptious. I get the feeling she's not a nice person but has some kind of hold over the dark haired one (maybe seen her stealing pills?) which is why she was reluctant to stand up to her and tell her to naff off. The other members didn't seem particular guilt stricken either. She was certainly nasty to them which isn't the smartest thing to do if you want a share of the winnings. I'm sorry but you can't just claim you're a winner if you haven't paid in. The members have to decide and if it goes against you then tough luck. Remember last year when one lad forgot his stake that week and they all had to vote on whether he was included or not? Same thing except he was still a proper member who accidentally forgot to pay and not someone who purposely backed out months before. I once went to bingo without my mum and I won £1200 (normally we went halves on any winnings). The next time I saw her I gave her £600. She was thrilled. One time she went and won £500 and gave me nothing. I was gutted but meh. I can't tell someone to give me some of their winnings if they don't want to. It certainly made me less generous.

Dorcas Ooooh, I like your theory about her having hold of the dark haired nurse- could be very true.
And I agree, I think stuff will come out about her (Helen, the blond one that is) being a nasty piece of work, which is why no-one felt awful about her not getting anything. Also, yes, that was exactly my thinking that it was very presumptuous of her to start shouting 'WE won' when she knew full well that she'd left the syndicate months before. Hence why I'd take great pleasure in not giving her a penny.

New series makes me wonder what I'd spend £14 million on if my work syndicate won....

It was a bit predictable. And I can't seen arch the nurse without seeing mrs Hughes from downton abbey. Totally different role but acted exactly the same. .
