Ooh it gives me the willies. I would hate to be going through any of that stuff. Some hard hitting stuff!

I am! Nearly wet myself when the guy got shot. clever though - hiding in the boot.

Enjoying it so far.

That poor bloke that's been accused of child molestation though. If he really didn't do it, well it doesn't make much difference now, he's been punished anyway. In prison and beaten up, which would probably be a regular occurrence. God can you imagine it?

Me. Loved the first series

As the car turned after man was shot I was wondering how he got shot as no windows or windscreen had a hole

Very clever from boot

Loved it. Will be watching every episode. What happened to the skanky ginger drug dealer girl, who wasn't so bad but just looked it?

I'd like a bit more info around the gangland boss prisoner, whatshisname, I mean how on earth did he get and keep so powerful when he's locked up

Weird seeing the prossie from shameless as the wife of the molester

I hope he didn't do it but wonder if he did - or is the neighbours revenge

Looks like the vicar is gonna get lucky !!!!

That woman from Shameless looks so different in this series....I wasn't sure it even was her at first!

I watched and loved all first series and would have been good to see some of the other original characters again but I suppose these things need to move along. Thought last night equally as good.

Such a different character for the woman from Shameless, although she plays it well, I already dislike and believe her.

I really wish they had done a 'previously' at the start. I watched the first series and really enjoyed it but I couldn't remember how it was left with all the various characters. Would have liked to have had a little reminder.

Also lack of the two other women (ginger one and that one off Hollyoaks) is irritating, Harriet took their son in the woman and now what, they never even cross her mind. Eve if they can't get the actors back for some reason they should have been mentioned.

Overall I think its a good series though, highlights lots of issues without being patronising. Hope it keeps up the drama.

I watched the first series and could have done with a recap. It was good though, the fella in the boot.

The police woman is one to watch I think. I am also interested about the child molestation storyline...did he or didn't he?

Also, did the vicar stop Harriets son converting to another religion?

It's a fantastic series and I'm so glad it's back. Polly Walker is a brilliant actress- can't take my eyes off her. She is so good that I want that female DCI to completely fail in catching Francesca out.

The child molester storyline doesn't sit well with DH and I. Someone in our family was sexually abused and the guy wasn't ever even remanded for one night after his arrest. He was on over 20 charges of child rape and got off through lack of evidence. Hence we feel a bit shaky watching this particular plotline.

The red head drug dealer went to prisoner herself didn't she. The boyfriend was released?

I could be making it up though

ChocsAwayInMyGob · 16/03/2013 18:46

Yes the redhead had to do time for dealing weed. Some of the stories from the last series were kind of complete, so I can see how they ended some and kept other open.

It's brilliantly written and it's one of those TV series that DH and I both enjoy equally.

I loved the last series, and I am so glad it is back.

MsNobody - I thought it was the Imam who stopped Harriet's son from converting. Did I miss something - did her vicar boyfriend talk to the imam?

Report
NuhichNuhaymuh · 16/03/2013 19:02

Yes it was the Imam, because he wasnt coverting for the right reason. Why does he want to? I've forgotten, is it to avoid being beaten up? How would it help anyway, the beater upers are muslim are they.

Report
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/03/2013 19:05

I thought that he was being protected by them, but they turned on him pretty fast when he wasn't allowed to convert, didn't they? That was why he told them about the accused child molester being on the wing, I think.

I was surprised he wasn't segregated, though. But I suppose it wouldn't make such good tv, would it.

Watched yesterday with ds1 (17) - we both love it!

Agree Polly Walker is amazing, and the actress who plays Harriet. David Bradley (Franny's father) fantastic in everything he does, he's in Lightfields as well at the mo.

Funny, it didn't occur to me for a moment that the football-coach father had assaulted the neighbour's child until DS said at the end "Yeah - course he did it, they just want you to think he didn't."

Chocs I'm sorry you and your family are upset about this storyline. Must make for very difficult viewing, for quite a few people out there. Hope they conclude it in a sensitive way.

Did anyone else pick up on football-coach's own son seeming very nervy around him, and terrified when the police turned up at the house?

momofalltrades · 17/03/2013 10:48

i watched the first series and couldn't wait for the second, missed first episode but caught up on iplayer and already it seems like it's going to be good. sensitivity should be paramount as there are so many issues in dramas that are very real in todays society, years ago things like child abuse, drugs, and gang warfare were things that might not have been spoke about. issues like these should be addressed

I have a bit of a weird crush on Paul/The guy who plays him/Franny's husband.

Strange as I've seen him in Game of Thrones and never had such thoughts.

The football coach is innocent it says in the sky program info, didn't think it was meant to be an is he or isn't he.
