Umm.

Where is everyone?

There's normally loads of you deliberatinh, cogitating, and digesting wrong presenter with me.

OOh is it.

That's good because I am currently watching old episodes of masterchef professionals and Masterchef Australia - could do with a new series of the UK one.

It was a bit nondescript though last year. We need another lunchpacket like Destiny to enter so we can all hate her.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 06/03/2013 15:31

Was Destiny teh one that had been to Foreign? So, consequently cooked stiff from Foreign? Radical, she was.

Yes, the woman with the mad stary eyes who looked like she had been on speed. Liked Thai food. Authentic. Spiritual

GetOrf · 06/03/2013 15:35

I just like the beginning bits best where all the morons cook terrible food and get sent home.

They need Monica Galetti to come on and pull faces and terrify them all.

I love Monica.

DD has booked le Gavroche for 6th June for us for lunch. She emailed me earlier all excited. She has been trying to book for ages and kept missing slots - in the end they told her she needed to call at 9am to book a table 3 months hence, if you don't ring first thing you lose it. Like a doctor's appointment.

MaryAnnSingleton · 06/03/2013 15:52

cracking !

MunchkinsMumof2 · 06/03/2013 17:08

Yay but hope it's not all mass catering in factories-much prefer the invention tests. I've been watching Masterchef South Africa and Australia and they have a much better format than ours. Hope there is a fruit loop we can all heckle Wink

NettoSuperstar · 06/03/2013 17:19

I haven't watched this since Dad of one Dhruv, and Children's doctor Tim.
I must start again though. I love Masterchef Australia.
We're currently watching the third series and DD has a huge crush on Hayden!

I'm well Jel at you going to Le Gavroche Getorf, I'd love to go there.

I've only been to one place with a michelin star, and only once.

Top of my current wishlist is the Hand and Flowers, not that I'll ever go there, but I can dreamGrin

LIZS · 06/03/2013 17:22

MC New Zealand is back on Watch this week too - 7pm

AddictedtoCrunchies · 06/03/2013 17:31

I'm going to the Hand and Flowers on 1 August. Very excited Grin

NettoSuperstar · 06/03/2013 18:04

Oooh, lucky you Addicted.

GetOrf · 06/03/2013 18:08

I would love to go to the hands and flowers. That chef was so lovely on masterchef professionals.

Dd text me earlier 'we get loads of wines at le gav' which makes me think she has booked the bloody tasting menu - I wonder if she knows how much it costs.

I love masterchef australia and NZ - really good format. And the terrible theme tune and opening credits makes me roar.

41notTrendy · 06/03/2013 18:09

I'm excited Grin
Yes, I'm not so keen on the new format. And the best bits are always when they're 'back in the Masterchef kitchen'.

Pancakeflipper · 06/03/2013 18:10

What time? Is it back at a sensible 8pm time ?

BabyRoger · 06/03/2013 18:12

Oh great. I love MC but I do much prefer the format of the Aussie version even if it does seem to go on for eternity.

I am starting to get a wee bit sick of how tough they make the challenges - what with them having to cater for 10,000 people in a kitchen 46 miles from the venue over a boulder field.

FrankWippery · 06/03/2013 18:16

If your going for the lunch at Gav GetOrf, you get a 1/2 bottle of wine per head. Love their lunches, they are so good and it's such an amazing place to eat. Been lucky enough to eat there a fair bit. You will love it.

Going there in June for a wine evening - done a couple before - wines from a particular Chateau, 5 courses to accompany each wine. Michel chats about what and why we have what we have and it is such a good night.

Also very excited about Masterchef returning. I'll be on your Fred's fo sho Chaos.

GetOrf · 06/03/2013 18:17

Some of the challenges are a bit daft.

The masterchef aus challenges are really good - go on a boat and catch a fish and cook it or take a chance at what is under this cloche (alligator).

And the elimination tests.

I like it when they go in professional kitchens and bugger everything up.

FrankWippery · 06/03/2013 18:19

That'll be you're not your.

GetOrf · 06/03/2013 18:26

Oh that's good frank, I have just text dd and told her before I read that that she better have 300 quid to spare as think its tasting menu. Ha!

Wine evening sounds lovelt. And half bottle of wine each is grand esp as dd doesn't like wine (more for mummy).

How are you btw? Is everything going well?

NettoSuperstar · 06/03/2013 18:32

"And the terrible theme tune and opening credits makes me roar."
Us too, it's hilarious, we sing along in bad voices.

Just put MC NZ on series link, I wonder how many times they'll make fush and chupsGrin

FrankWippery · 06/03/2013 18:32

Haha! That'll freak her out!

We're plodding along. I'm good, just check ups now for a couple of years. Ongoing shite for DD3 though, but we're getting there and she's being so good every time we in to hospital for one prod, probe or other such investigating stuff.

GetOrf · 06/03/2013 18:39

I am so pleased that you're getting there health wise, how awful though for your dd. You must be exausted with it all.

Netto I was just going to post about my and dd's love for the grumpy bespectacled judge on masterchef NZ and fush and chups. Fabulous accent. (Fubulous uccent)

We sing alonga theme tune as well, and toss our hair in manner of groovy contestants.

We are very, very tragic individuals.

Bloody hell though I never posted those books to you - I was going to but then thought I saw you posting about moving and then forgot - I am so sorry, how slack I am. I still have them on a shelf waiting if you would like them Blush

We sing along too - I do a Neighbours / Masterchef mashup and Dd loves it! It's vair hilair chez Munchkins Wink

WireCatWhore · 06/03/2013 20:18

In this new series, they have to make a dish just from tasting it. Or something.i think I read it in the daily hate mail so it must be true. Hmm

MsNobodyAgain · 07/03/2013 05:57

pancake it is on at 9pm next Tuesday, BBC1.

Thanks for the heads up chaos. I love MC.
